urbanMamas is an open community that thrives because so many mamas and papas care to share their experiences and thoughts with the rest of us. We are a valuable resource to one another, even though no two parenting experiences are the same. We love the respect that has grown among our community. We love the diversity among us - we are first-time parents, we are long-time parents, we are stay-at-home moms and dads, we are working mamas and papas. Thanks once again for making urbanMamas all that it is.

Black Wagon and urbanMamas team up to create a new twist on an old favorite, the naked lady party!  This event is for mamas only! 

Be prepared for clothing flying through the air, the ultimate friendly fire, while women beg, borrow and steal new favorites from friends new and old to spruce up their wardrobe.

Don’t expect well-worn maternity bras, or granny panties!  These mamas are swapping their pre-loved garb in an evening of fun, recycling, and bonding.  Low-rise boot cut jeans don’t fit like they used to?  Cute camis too snug for your post-baby boobs?  Your previously favorite purse not big enough for wipes and dipes?  Don’t fret!  Barter ‘em away in exchange for your hot new mamalicious gear.  One mama’s trash is another mama’s treasure!

Sip wine, enjoy nibbles, and meet new friends for the evening,.  All items at Black Wagon will be 20% off during the Naked Mamas Party.  Great gifts from N. Mississippi boutiques like Flutter and Gypsy Chic will be up for grabs, too!  And - for those who have yet to meet up with other urbanMamas - come on down and get to know this fine community at the Naked Mamas Party!

Portland’s urbanMamas.com is a community of like-minded mamas and papas, facilitating connections on-line and in -person with resources for everything from breastfeeding support to childcare references and a guide for fun activities for children.

We've gotten information about a study that some urbanFamilies may be interested in...

Study Details:
The project is focused on children's art supplies and will be conducted by SmartRevenue on behalf of a leading children's art supplies manufacturer. Participants will meet one of SmartRevenue's researchers at a local retailer to participate in a short, mock-shopping trip. After the shop-along participants will engage in a brief 12-15 minute interview on their shopping habits and history.

Compensation:
Participants will receive $25 dollars after the completion of the interview.

Dates:
Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from March 3rd -March 25th 2007

Eligible Participants:
* A mother with at least one child in your household between the ages of 2 and 10 years
* Have purchased Children's Art Supplies in the past 12 months
* Are open to purchasing Children's Art Supplies in the next 6 months

Create an Eco-Healthy Environment with the Tiny Fooprints Program. The Oregon Environmental Council’s Tiny Footprints’ website is an online resource which helps identify eco-healthy options for raising children. The website includes parks that don't use pesticides, eco-healthy childcare facilities, plastics should you consider avoiding, and eco-healthy baby gifts. Or if you are just getting started, check out Tiny Footprints’ eco-healthy baby shower kit which is a great way to get family and friends involved at the beginning of a child's life.
