Post to the urbanMamas Forums
A nominal fee is charged for listings and posts to the Childcare, Schools and Summer Camps Forums, due to increasing demand, multiple posts, and administrative costs. Rates, effective September 1, 2013:
- Childcare Forum: $15
- Schools Forum: $30
- Camps Forum: $50
Once you enter your post (directions below), posts will be approved upon receipt of payment via Paypal. Please allow up to 3 business days for posts to be approved and published. We cannot allow for published posts to appear for any extended duration. If you wish for your post to appear at the top position, please re-submit post and payment for review and publishing.
Wanna post a childcare related question? Or maybe you have an opening at your childcare facility or preschool? Or maybe you want to rave about your fabulous nanny? Or perhaps you're looking to sell / purchase, or pass along goods and services to fellow urbanMamas? Or do you want to connect with other parents from a school or camp you're considering for your child? Here's a way to allow the urbanMamas community at large to post on the forums.
- Go to Typepad and login as "email@example.com", with "urbanmamas" as your password. Please DO NOT change the user info otherwise it will lock all users out of the system.
- Select the appropriate forum: uM Camps, uM Childcare (including preschools), uM Schools (grade school info only).
- uM Camps: Share info about summer camps, day camps for spring break or school inservice days. Please categorize as you see fit - sports, crafts, theater, general, outdoor, academic.
- uM Childcare: This is the place to post for nannies, nanny-share opportunities, preschool openings, daycare centers. Please categorize - by location (SE, SW, NE, N, NW, Tigard, Beaverton, etc), program focus, length of program (PT, FT, etc). See more guildines in Childcare Forum Posts - Tips & Tricks.
- uM Schools: This is the place to post for grade schools. Preschool openings should be posted in the "uM Childcare" section. Please categorize - by the name of the school.
- Click on "Begin a New Post". Create a title, select the appropriate categories for the question, and create your post. Please remember include at least a first name an email address if you want to be contacted!
- If you're adding a grade school, please add the name, location and website for the school so others have a point of reference.
- If you're adding a camp, please add the name, location, website and a brief description of the program. Also, please indicate the age-group served (preK, elem, middle, or high school) and whether it's a partial or full day.
- Once you've formatted, spelled-checked, added the appropriate links, hit the Save button and it will go to us for review and moderation.

- Only one photo per post
- Two paragraph maximum
- When paying via Paypal, please state if your post is a "re-post".
We will only post questions that are relevant and appropriate. Posts will appear on our Childcare Forum, Schools Forum, or Camps Forum as soon as we can get to it. We may also spread out posts if there are too many in a day. Happy posting!
