Friday, September 4th

PP&R Ladybug Walk at Irving Park in NE PDX. Children 2-5 years old (and adults) are encouraged to walk alongside a nature guide to explore the park, look for slugs, listen to songbirds and feel the different textures nature has to offer. Friday, 10 am. $4 per child.  

Vaux's Swifts at Chapman Elementary in NW PDX. Pack a picnic, bring some lawn chairs and watch the fascinating movement of the swifts as they use the school's chimney as their evening roost. Friday, 6-8 pm. Free!

Saturday, September 5th
Art in the Pearl in NW PDX. Cruise through the Northwest Portland Park blocks to take in all of the art, music, theater and activities for people of all ages. This annual event has been named one of the Top 10 Arts & Crafts Festivals in the country. Saturday, 10 am-6 pm. Free!
Blue Lake Park Day: International Food Festival in NE PDX. Don't miss this gathering of food vendors from all over the world, international musical artists, a beer garden, mini disc-golf, face painting, a supervised rock wall and all of the regular park amenities. Saturday, 11 am-5 pm. Free walk or bike-in admission! $5 per car for parking.

Movie in the Park: Maleficent in SW PDX. Cuddle up at Hamilton Park with a picnic, blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy live local music followed by an outdoor showing of
Maleficent. Saturday, music starts at 6:30 pm and movie begins at dusk. Free!

Sunday, September 6th
Naturalist in the Park in SE PDX. Explore Scouters Mountain with a nature guide who will introduce you to the exciting world of our local plants and animals. Sunday, 10 am and 1 pm. Free!

Stumpfest at Tryon Creek State Park in SW PDX. Celebrate the history of Tryon Creek State Park by participating in old-time carnival games, watching logging demos, spending time at the craft table or embarking on a self-guided hike. Sunday, noon-3 pm. Free!
