Friends of the Cornelius Public library are selling used books with all proceeds going to literacy and library programs. Get there early for the best selection. Friday and Saturday. Hours vary. Admission is free.
First Friday Flick in North Plains.
This showing of Disney's 2015 remake of a classic fairytale will be hosted at Jessie Mays Community Hall. Popcorn will be served and all ages are welcome. Friday, 6-8 pm. Free!
Saturday, October 3rd
Handmade Bike and Beer Festival in SE PDX.
This family-friendly event pairs renowned bike frame/parts builders with local craft beer, great music, fun and games for all! Saturday and Sunday. Hours and prices vary.
NWCT presents The Sun Serpent in NW PDX.
It's opening weekend for this production of an ancient tale told through an innovative mix of language, masks and digital media. Recommended for ages 8 and older. Saturday and Sunday. 7pm. $17-23.
Oregon Pacific Railroad Train Rides in SE PDX.
All ages are welcome to ride this passenger train between the Oregon Rail Heritage Center and Oaks Amusement Park, via the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge along the Willamette River and back. Each round trip is approximately 45 minutes. Saturday, 12:30-5 pm. $5-$10.
Sunday, October 4th
Apple Festival in SE PDX.
This annual event includes apples and cider for sale, face painting, local vendors, a bounce house, family activities and games, delicious food, and more. Sunday, 10 am-2 pm. Free!
Rose City Rosebuds Intake in SE PDX.
The Rosebuds Seedlings squad is where new recruits become eligible to join the program’s home team after achieving their basic skills requirements. Learn awesome skating skills and become a part of the supportive and empowering community that is the flat track derby family. Ages 12-17. Sunday, noon-2 pm.
