Weekend Warriors July 24-26

Friday, July 24th
Families in the Field: Pollinators of Graham Oaks Nature Park in Wilsonville. Explore nature while learning all about butterflies, hummingbirds, beetles and bees. Created for ages 3-5, but all ages are welcome with parents. Friday, 10-11:30 am. $11 per family. 

Hapa Haole Hula Competition in Vancouver. The Ke Kukui Foundation invites people of all ages to enjoy this event featuring early modern hula and music from 1900-1959. Friday, 4-10 pm. Free!
The Neverending Story Movie in the Park at Woodstock Park in SE PDX. A performance by local music group Manimal will kick off this event, followed by an outdoor screening of The Neverending Story. Friday, 6:30 pm. Free!
Saturday, July 25th
Exhibition of the Buddha's Ancient & Sacred Relics in SE PDX. This event features 3,000 relics of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni and 44 other Buddhist masters from India, Tibet and China. All ages are welcome to explore this visually stunning exhibition. Saturday, 10 am-7 pm. Free!

Photo Scavenger Hunt For Kids & Teens in N PDX. This history-based photo scavenger hunt and community building event will lead kids and their families on a journey throughout the Kenton Neighborhood. Follow a list of clues, face photo challenges, learn and have fun. Pre-registration recommended. Ages 8+. Saturday, 11 am-3 pm. $5 per child or $10 per family (parents are free).

'Between the Lines' An Original Play by an All-youth Cast in NE PDX. Developed and written by an all-youth cast and the director of Maverick Main Stage Productions, this play deals with sensitive issues such as racial tension, gentrification, and the heartache of coming of age with humor and honesty. Saturday, 7 pm. $15 per adult, $5 per child 18 and younger.

Sunday, July 26th

Sunday Parkways in NE PDX. Explore the Northeast Neighborhood Greenways while you make your way around the July route. Stop by Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks along with Rigler Elementary School for fun activities, festive music, and delicious food. Sunday, 11 am-4 pm. Free!

Habiba's Village at Director Park in SW PDX. Habiba Addo's electrifying storytelling offers a superbly authentic expression of African culture. A native of Ghana, Habiba offers an interactive, multi-cultural performance with authentic West African costume, singing and movements. Sunday, 1-2 pm. Free!

Tea Time at Tillamook Forest Center. Join naturalists for a talk about teas from the leaves, roots and flowers of plants that can be found in the Tillamook State Forest, then sample some of the concoctions and vote for your favorite. Sunday, 2:30-3 pm. Free!
