Weekend Warrior July 17-19

Friday, July 17th
PP&R Ladybug Walk at Kenilworth Park in SE PDX. Stroll through the park and discover bugs, trees, leaves, birds and more - all with your very own nature guide. Meet at SE 32nd & Cora Drive. Friday, 10 am. Ages 2-5. $4 per child. 
 
Oregon Berry Festival at the Ecotrust Building in NW PDX. This event features a farmer's market, children's activities and crafts, cooking demos and entertainment, health and wellness seminars and lots of berry deliciousness. Friday, noon-6 pm. Free!
 
Sunset Walk at Smith & Bybee Wetlands in N PDX. Walk through the wetlands with a guide, exploring the wildlife and scenic views. Pre-registration required. Friday, 7-9 pm. $6 per person. $11 per family. 
 
Saturday, July 18th
Sand in the City in downtown PDX. Come downtown to Sand in the City for family-friendly fun on July 18th! There will be music, games, cool sand sculptures, crafts, and tons of prizes. Fun Minion crafts start at 12:00pm and yellow plastic hats will be distributed to kids at 2:00pm (while supplies last). Saturday 10 am-9 pm. $4/person.
 
Peter Pan & Tinkerbell Story Time in SE PDX. Enjoy a highly interactive show for all ages, including a live-action story time, face painting, and animal balloons. Saturday, 11 am-noon. $8. 
 
Mary Charlotte's Garden Party & Fashion Show in Eagle Creek. This event features an opportunity to learn about Oregon pioneer history while gardening, listening to music, watching a 19th-century fashion show, and participating in hands-on activities. Saturday, 1-4 pm. $5 per person or $20 per family. 
 
Mini Barre at SmallFry in NE PDX. This full-body workout is a combination of fun and fitness, specifically designed for ages 5-12. A great way for kiddos to expend some energy. Saturday, 2-2:30 pm. $5 suggested donation. 
 
Sunday, July 19th
Preschool Story and Stroll at Tryon Creek State Park in SW PDX. Explore the scenic state park while learning about Flying Squirrel Superheroes through art, literature, movement, and outdoor play. Pre-registration required. Sunday, 10-11:15 am. Free!
 
The Goonies Movie in the Park at Lents Park in SE PDX. Performances by Portland School of Rock and Portland Teen Idols will kick off this event, followed by an outdoor screening of The Goonies. Sunday, 6:30 pm. Free!
