WEEKEND WARRIORS: June 5-7

Friday, June 5th  
Free Make & Take Dog Toys in SE PDX. Drop by the Pendleton Woolen Mill Store to make a tug toy to benefit Fences for Fido. Make one for your pooch and one for a dog in need. Free. Friday11-4pm. 
 
Fun Fridays at Soham Yoga in Oregon City.  Mr. Hoo kicks off this fun summer series. Come play with toys, instruments, or look at books while being entertained with great music. $5 per family.Friday 12-1pm.  

Alice in Wonderland, Jr. in SE PDX. Closing weekend for this show. Lewis Carroll's famously inquisitive heroine comes to life in Disney'sAlice In Wonderland Jr., a delightful adaptation of the classic Disney film. $10. Friday 7pm.

Saturday, June 6th 

Frontier Family Ride (bicycle) in Canby. Bring your bikes, trailers, tag-a-longs or any combination of two wheelers to ride the countryside starting at the Clackamas County Fair grounds. The family ride is a comfortable eight miles. $25 per family. Saturday6:30-4pm

Grand Floral Parade. A true Portland tradition, come early to grab the perfect spot along the 4.2 mile parade route and help celebrate our beautiful Rose City. Free. Saturday 10am.

Safety Day at The Streets of Tanasbourne in Hillsboro. Meet the heros of the police, ambulance, and fire departments while they hand out stickers and prizes. Free. Saturday 11-2pm.

Kids Club: Buckets of Lavender in Woodburn. June is perennial garden month and a great time to celebrate the beginning of summer. Learn all about lavender and plant a bucket to take home and enjoy. $5 per child. Saturday 11-11:45am.

Brazilian Folk Festival - 'Festa Junina': A Fun Family Day in SE PDX.  Fun for all ages to celebrate everything Brazil.  Traditional games, dance, food and drink will help you get into the Brazilian spirit. Traditional dress is encouraged! Kids under 10 free, 11 & older $5. Saturday 5-10pm.

Sunday, June 7th 
Woodstock Farmer's Market Celebrates Fifth Season. Bring the whole family for live music, delicious food, and free kids' activities including a balloon twister, face painting, stop-motion lego animation station, and several crafts. Be sure to come say hi to the Metro Parent-PDX Kids Calendar folks at the Kids Activity booth! We will be making maracas with our friends from Art Jam (who will also be offering discount camp coupons). You can also get your hands on a copy of our Best Summer Ever June-July issue. Sunday 10am-2pm. 
 
Party at the Pond this Sunday at the Milk Carton Boat Race! A classic Rose Festival event and family friendly community tradition dating back to 1973, the Milk Carton Boat Race returns at the Westmoreland Park Casting Pond, in the Sellwood Neighborhood of southeast Portland. The race features kids and adults in hand-made, human powered boats that float entirely by means of recycled milk cartons and jugs. Participation and admission are free, and any donations of canned food and funds will support the Northwest Farmers Fighting Hunger campaign. Sunday 11am-2pm. Free!

Bank of America's Museums on Us free admission weekend. Present your card and photo ID to gain free general admission at participating museums, including Children's Museum, Portland Art Museum and the Japanese Gardens. Saturday & Sunday

A Sundrops Concert with The Harmonica Pocket and Talullah's Daddy in North PDX. Harmonica Pocket is visiting Portland! Don't miss out on your chance to hear their amazing sound. Tallulah's Daddy will be opening the show! This is a great chance to hear music for the whole family. $7. Sunday 4-5pm
