WEEKEND WARRIORS: JUNE 26-28

Friday June 26th

Used Book Sale in Vancouver. 15,000 used books sorted into categories for all book lovers. Baby board books, easy readers, graphic novels, fiction and non- fiction for adults and children including biographies, gardening, woodworking and quilting. Friday & Saturday 9am-6pm.

Open Studio at Art ala Carte in NE PDX. Children of all ages are invited to load up trays of seemingly endless supplies for an "all you can make" experience. Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm. $9-11.


Festival of Balloons in Tigard. Early morning hot air balloon launches, afternoon shopping, live music, Funtastic carnival fun center, clowns, cotton candy, and a whole lot more! Friday-Sunday. Weekend pass is $5-7. Kids 6 & under are free. 

Saturday June 27th 
World Beat Festival in Salem. Experience the world in a day. 25,000 visitors, 125 cultural performances, 100 vendors and exhibitors, 70 nations and cultures, 9 stages, 2 days, 1 world. Great for kids. Saturday & Sunday. 
 
Recycled Arts Festival in Vancouver. Art, music, recycled crafts, juggler, stiltwalker, clown and more at this family-friendly celebration of waste reduction, reuse and recycling in Clark County. Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. Free!
 
Storybook fun with Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat at Lloyd Center. Live interactive story time featuring dances, crafts, balloon artist, games, prizing and a photo booth. Plus, Aaron Nigel Smith will be performing a few songs. Saturday 11am-1pm. Free!

The Amazing Bubble Show in SE PDX. Explore the dynamics of bubbles as Louis Pearl combines comedy and artistry with audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerized. Saturday 11am. $6-11.

Pop-up Juice Joint for Biker Kids in SW PDX. A biker-themed experiment-in-fun with a juice bar, games, activities, music, healthy snacks and more. Saturday noon-3pm. Free (pre-registration encouraged). 

Back to the 50s: Family Fun at Beaverton Swim Center. Go back in time with 25 cent open swim, free cake and hot dogs, relay races, water balloon demonstration and more. Saturday 2-4pm.
 
Oregon Children's Theatre's End of Season Celebration in NE PDX. Fun for the whole family with improvisational comedy, theater games, food, music, raffle prizes and more. Saturday 4-7pm. Free!

Sunday June 28th  
Portland Children's Festival in SE PDX. Puppet shows, storytelling, juggling, magic, eurythmy performances, music, kids art, theater, crafts and more. Sunday 10am-5pm. Free!

Junior Ranger: Roving - Treasure Hunt at Tryon Creek State Park in SW PDX. Kids 6-12 yrs old will receive their mission from a park ranger and then complete your mission by exploring on your own in the park. Parents must participate in the exploration with their children. Sunday 11am-3pm. Free!
