WEEKEND WARRIORS: JUNE 12-14

Friday, June 12th

Family Music Jam in St. Johns. Come make music with your kids. Best for ages 0-6, but the whole family is welcome to sing, dance, and play music together. $5 donation. Friday 10-10:30am.

Ladybug Walk in SE PDX. Walk the trails, explore nature, and learn from naturalists about the wildlife that resides in Lents Park. $4 per child. Friday 10am.

Paint Something Special for Dad at Mimosa Studios in NE PDX. Get a head start on gifts for Father's Day (June 21st) with a personalized gift just for Dad. You choose the pottery, your child gets to paint it or adorn it with hand prints to be fired and ready for pick up the next day. Prices vary. Friday 11-6pm.

The Village 2015 - A West African Rhythm and Dance Collective - in SW PDX. Celebrate the music and dance of diverse West African nations. Three groups of youth and professional drummers and dancers will perform traditional music. $12/youth 17& under, $22/adults. Friday 7:30-9pm.

Saturday, June 13th
Free Family Day: Technology: From Primitive to Present Day in Hillsboro. Get hands-on with some primitive technology as well as some cutting edge technology produced right in Washington County. Free. Saturday 10-1pm.

National Get Outdoors Day in Vancouver. Celebrate healthy, active, outdoor fun through traditional and non-traditional outdoor games. Free. Saturday 10-3pm.

The 87th Portland Scandinavian Midsummer Festival at Oaks Park. A summer solstice festival including food, crafts, music, beer garden, and dancing.  Arrive before 1pm to help decorate and raise the Maypole. Kids 12 & under free/Adults $7. Saturday 11-6pm. 

Sunday, June 14th
Pollination Celebration at Sauvie Island. In celebration of National Pollinator week, event staff will teach you the buzz about bees. Let your kids explore how honey is made, what happens when a bee stings you, where our food comes from, and more. $10/family donation. Sunday 10-1pm.

Story Time with Rapunzel at Amazing Fairytale Parties in SE PDX. Rapunzel will tell stories and play games with your little one. Music and balloon animals to delight both boys and girls. $12 includes admission for adult and child. Sunday 10:30-11:15am.
