Weekend Warriors: May 22-24

Friday, May 22nd

Family Jam at the Lotus Seed in St. Johns. Dance, sing, play instruments and have a jammin' good time. Recommended $5-10 donation. Friday 10-10:30am. 

The Rose Festival CityFair. Rose Festival activities kick off this weekend. Opening night festivities include fireworks, a dance party and of course - the rides. Rides, food and other attractions continue throughout the weekend. Admission is $7 for ages 7 and over; free for children under 7. Rides are an additional cost. Friday 5-11pm; Saturday and Sunday 11am-11pm. 

Aaron Nigel Smith and the 1World Chorus in Concert in NE PDX. This show launches a new album featuring 1World chorus singers from across the world called "Celebrating Bob Marley." Free. Friday at 5:30pm.

Closing Weekend of NWCT's The Little Mermaid. This weekend is your last chance to catch the musical tale of a girl longing for life above the waves, done in collaboration with A-WOL Dance Collective. $18-22. Friday 7pm; Saturday and Sunday 12pm and 4pm; Monday 12pm. 

Saturday, May 23rd

Grandparents Day at the Craft Factory in SW PDX. Join for two-for-one craft deals when grandparents and their grandchildren can do a fun craft together. $12 for two. Saturday 9am-1pm.

Tallulah's Daddy performs at the Sunnyside Farmers Market. Get your fresh veggies and your music fix! Free. Saturday 10am-1pm.  

Kids' Storytime at Powell's City of Books in NW PDX. This week's selection will be How to Catch a Mouse by Philippa Leathers. Free. Saturday 11am. 

109th Multnomah County Fair at Oaks Park. Three packed days full of free fun, including pony rides, fair food, yard animals, arts and crafts and live entertainment. Free admission. Saturday through Monday, 12-7pm. 

Sunday, May 24th

TrackTown Youth League Free All-Comer Track Meet in North PDX. Open to all children ages  8-14. Top finishers will advance to a championship meet at Hayward Field following the USA Track & Field Championships. Free. Please preregister. Sunday 10-11:30am.  

Powerful Princess Snow Queen Party at Green Bean Books in NE PDX. Play Olaf's favorite games, decorate magical crowns, dance, make ribbon wands, hear stories of powerful princesses and more. $10/child. Please preregister. Sunday 2-3pm.
