Weekend Warriors: May 2-4

Friday, May 1st

Free Fit4Mom Fitness Class and Mother's Day Celebration at Jamison Square. Enjoy a free stroller strides class plus giveaways, refreshments and activities for the kids. Please pre-register. Free. Friday 9-11am. 

Weekly Friday Morning Storytime and Craft at The Craft Factory in SW PDX. Enjoy a free storytime from a local bookstore and a discount craft. Storytime is free. $5 for two ornamental craft bases. Friday 10:30-11am. 

Latino Celebration at Clark College in Vancouver. Celebrate children and reading at this bilingual celebration. Free. Friday 5-8pm. 

Saturday, May 2nd

Free Admission to Local Museums with Bank of America Card. This weekend Bank of America and Merrill Lynch card holders can get one free admission to the Portland Art Museum, Portland Children's Museum and the Portland Japanese Garden. See museum websites for hours. 

Kid Club: Flower Power. Make a Mother's Day Flower Pot at any of the three Al's Garden Center locations (Gresham, Sherwood and Woodburn). Registration required. $5. Saturday 9:30-10:15am. 

Classical Up Close: Kids Concerts in Vancouver. Members of the Oregon Symphony will perform two interactive shows for kids. Free. Saturday 10:30am and 12pm. 

31st Annual Cinco De Mayo Festival on the Waterfront in SW PDX. Enjoy live entertainment, authentic food, rides, family fun and more. Admission is $4-8; children 6 and under free. Additional cost for rides. Saturday and Sunday 11am-11pm. 

The Fourth Annual Great Glasses Play Day in SW PDX. Help celebrate children who wear glasses at this meet-up with free carnival games and more. Free. Saturday 2pm.

Southside Family Barn Dance in SE PDX. Featured entertainment is a concert by Caroline Oakley from 4:30-5:30pm. There will also be puppet theater, parachute games, a craft sale, food and more. $7 per person. Saturday 4-6:30pm.  

Sunday, May 3rd

The Alphabeticians at Cafe au Play in SE PDX. Come sing and dance and learn the alphabet backwards and forwards. $5 per child. Sunday 10-11am. 

Children's Author Dan Gutman Visits Green Bean Books in NE PDX. Bestselling author of "The Genius Files" shares his new rhythmic book "Rappy the Raptor." Free. Sunday 2-3pm.
