Weekend Warriors: January 23-35

Friday, January 23rd

Six and Under Shred at the Lumberyard. Kids six and under can enjoy Portland's unique indoor bike park, including jump lines, pump tracks, skill sections and technical trail riding. $6. Friday 9am-12pm.

Stitches in Bloom Quilt Show at the Oregon Garden. See beautiful quilts and watch demos by quilting vendors. $5-11. Friday 10am-4pm.

Music with Mr. Hoo at the Village Ballroom. Mr. Hoo of the Alphabeticians plays fun music for kids and their grownups on his guitar, ukulele and kazoo. $5/family. Friday 11am-12pm.

Saturday, January 24th

Wapato Nature Walk on Sauvie Island. Join a park naturalist for this 2-mile walk on Sauvie Island. Free. Saturday 8am-11am. 

Olympic Celebration: Curling Class for Kids in Beaverton. Learn to curl from an Olympic Medalist. One hour of instruction precedes one hour of play. $10. Pre-registration available. Saturday 9-11am. 

Kids Storytime at Powell's Books. Join for a reading ofBlizzard by John Rocco. Free. Saturday 11am. 

Lil' Lentils Presents Tallulah's Daddy in SE PDX. Wear your dancing socks and get ready for a good time with one of Portland's favorite kindie musicians. $3-5 suggested donation. 

Superhero Cartoons at the Capitol Hill Library. Bring out the best of your imagination through cartooning. For teens. Free. Saturday 2-4pm. 

Sunday, January 25th

Dumpling Making with Turnip the Heat. Learn to make different types of dumplings from around the world. For ages 8 and up. Please preregister. $35. Sunday 9:30am-12pm.

Mochitsuki 2015 in SW PDX. Join thousands of Portlanders for a New Year celebration of Japanese traditions. Activities include Japanese drumming, singing, dancing, and hands-on demos. $5-12; 3 and under free. Sunday 11am-4pm.
