Weekend Warriors: November 21-23

Friday, November 21st

Free Week of Stroller Strides (throughout PDX). Bring your stroller and little one for a great one hour workout. All workouts are free this week at all locations. See website for schedules and locations. Monday-Saturday, various times.

Open Studio at Portland Child Art Studio in NW PDX. Your kids can do as much art as they'd like, and you don't have to clean up. $10/child ($5/child for Oregon Trail Card card-holders). Friday 10am-1pm and 2-5:30pm. 

Micah and Me Singalong at A Children's Place Bookstore. Sing and dance along to the sounds of the guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and mandolin. $5 suggested donation. Friday 10:30am. 

Storytime with Olive & Dingo at the Pie Spot. Check out these bright, cartoony characters who love to entertain families through songs, dance, stories, and balloons. $5 suggested donation. Friday, 3-4pm.

Puppet Show at Playdate PDX. See Dragon Puppet Theatre perform  The Pirate and His Pet. Free with admission ($4-$8). Friday 6:30pm. 

Saturday, November 22nd

Hands on Portland Family Volunteer Day. Hands On Greater Portland has gathered together family-friendly opportunities to volunteer today, including planting trees, weatherizing homes, gardening, and writing letters to seniors. See their website for details and registration. Saturday, various times. 

Holladay Park Turkey Trot-a-Thon. Kids of all ages can see how many laps they can run, and then stick around for a bounce house, holiday craft, and more. Free. Registration begins Saturday at 10; see website for schedule.

Wild Arts Festival in NW PDX. This festival celebrates nature in the works of artists and writers. Children's books authors will be present, and kids can get up close to Audubon education birds (vultures, hawks, and owls). $6 adults, free for kids. Saturday 10am-6pm. 

Fall Arts & Crafts at the Milwaukie Library. Drop in for fall-inspired crafts. Best for ages 5 and up. Free. Saturday 2-3pm. 

The Alphabeticians Perform at Mississippi Pizza. Dance along to the tunes of one of Portland's most-loved kindie groups at one of Portland's most-loved kindie venues. $10/family. Saturday 4pm. 

Sunday, November 23rd

Woodstock Farmers Market Pre-Thanksgiving Harvest. Shop for Thanksgiving and keep the kiddos entertained with music and crafts. Entertainment is free. Sunday 10am-2pm. 

Pointed Man Band at Cafe au Play. Be entertained with music about adventures, emotions, and even bugs. $5/family. Sunday 10-11am. 

Little Women Party in Beaverton. Play games, make crafts, and read stories inspired by the story Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Sunday 2-3pm.
