WEEKEND WARRIORS - July 4-6, 2014

Waterfront Blues Festival plus fireworks in downtown PDX. Enjoy more than 100 performances on four stages, plus more than 35 artist interviews and workshops, Blues Cruises on the Willamette River, activities for kids, dances, after-hours jams, fireworks and more. Admission to the festival is $10 per person per day, Sunday not included. Children 5 and under free. Donations of canned food encouraged.

Annual 4th of July Celebration with Fireworks at Oaks Park Amusement Park. Portland's favorite 4th of July celebration is at Oaks Amusement Park! A full day of fun awaits as you count down to our famous fireworks display over the mighty Willamette River. Rides, roller skating, picnic grounds, carnival games, go carts, and miniature golf open all day! Friday 10am-midnight. $2-5 entry. Rides, games and food extra.

Estacada Timber Festival. Carnival, parade, fireworks, live music. Friday starting at noon. Free!

Yoga in the Park at Irving Park. A fun all ages yoga practice class that ranges 30 to 45 minutes in length and showcases activities and stories from around the world. Meetup in the playground area and then choose a nice available patch of grass to lay out mats. No experience necessary. Bring mats if you have them. Saturday 11-11:45am. By donation.

Once Upon a Time Family Theatre Presents Chicken Little in SE PDX. A magical mix of theatrical simplicity and grand storytelling for kids and their families. There's always a slight twist to the traditional story that keeps these productions fresh. This month join and see a fun, family-friendly interpretation of Chicken Little appropriate for all ages. Saturday noon-2pm. $1/child, $2/adult.

$2 Sunday at OMSI. Explore OMSI for $2 every first Sun. 9:30 am-5:30 pm. Parking $3.
