WEEKEND WARRIORS - May 2-4, 2014

Music with Miss SaraMag at Rain City Coffee. Combining songs that get kids moving with uplifting lyrics, Miss SaraMag empowers children to be all they can be and follow their dreams. She sings and plays the piano, as well as incorporating sign language and dance for interactive fun. Friday 10-11am. $5 suggested donation.

Superkids Resale Vancouver Event. Come shop bargains galore at this bi-annual kids consignment event. Save 50-90% off retail prices on 60,000+ items including clothes, toys, baby gear, maternity, books, furniture and much more. On Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday May 4th: Princess and Super Hero Photos with Van Pop Parties. Cinderella will be there from 10-4pm both days. Multiple background choices, like Star Wars and Frozen. Friday: 9am to 8pm, Saturday/Sunday: 9am to 5pm. 

Pioneer Family Festival in Oregon City. Fun for all ages as part of Oregon City's Family Fun Days. Highlights include the huge carnival and midway, continuous music on the festival Main Stage, great food from local vendors, and vendors offering commercial goods, crafts, and community information. Other festival events include a climbing rock wall, lazer tag, go karts and more. Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Free! 

Free First Friday at the Children's Museum. Enjoy free admission the first Friday of every month, with special crafts, activities,and musical guests. A perfect opportunity to check out the new Outdoor Adventure exhibit! Friday 4-8pm. Free!

Free Comic Book Day. A single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores. Check with your local comic book shop for their participation and rules. Saturday.

Faire in the Grove at McMenamins Grand Lodge. Renaissance fun with live heavy armored combat, rapier, dance, music, story telling, merchants, juggling, medieval cooking, and textile demos, book binding, leather working, strolling musicians, singers and dancers throughout the day. Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. Free!

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Waterfront Park. Two entertainment stages, evening laser show, live butterfly exhibit, carnival rides and more. Saturday, Sunday & Monday 11am-11pm. Prices vary.

$2 Sunday at OMSI. Explore OMSI for $2 every first Sun. 9:30 am-5:30 pm. Parking $3.

Nature Days in the Park: Vista Brook Park. This newly restored site features a new playground and paved trails, but most importantly a viewing platform over the pond. Explore the pond and wetland for wildlife that exist in this hidden park. Education staff and volunteers will lead interactive, nature-based activities. Park rangers will be avialable to answer questions. Sunday 11am-3pm. A free event, suitable for all ages.

Okee Dokee Brothers in Lake Oswego. Grammy-winning Joe and Justin record and perform family music with a goal to inspire children and their parents to get outside and experience nature. They believe this can motivate kids to gain a greater respect for the natural world, their communities and themselves. Sunday 7-8pm. $5 suggested donation.>
