Ladybug Nature Walk: Westmoreland Park. Walk through parks, gardens and natural areas with your youngster (2 - 5 years old)  and a nature guide. Friday 10am. $3/child. 

Festival of Balloons in Tigard. Hot air balloons, craft & vendors booth, music, rides, clowns, and more! Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Gate admission $5, parking and rides additional.

Lakewood Festival of the Arts Kid's Day at George Rogers Park. Bring the kids for some exciting outdoor crafts, games and entertainment. Friday 12-4pm. Free!

Community Day at Oregon Historical Society. The day will include docent-led gallery tours, stories from real-life history makers, kids' activities, live music, and food vendors on the plaza. Saturday 11am-3pm. Free!

Wetlands Painted Turtle Walk at Smith and Bybee Wetlands. Take a close look with a telescope, learn about the turtles' natural history and examine turtle shells found in the wetlands. Suitable for ages 5 and older. Registration and payment of $6 per adult or $11 per household required in advance. Saturday 1-2:30pm. 

All About Bugs! at Albina Library. Join the Bug Chicks, two female entomologists (bug scientists), in exploring the world of insects, spiders and their relatives. You can even hold, pet and look at all sorts of crazy creatures including tarantulas, cockroaches, scorpions and more! Saturday 2-3:30pm. Free!

Woodstock Farmers Market's Solstice Celebration. Bring the whole family for live music, delicious food, and free kids' activities. Sunday 10am-2pm. Free!

All About Edibles - Kids Gardening Club at 7 Dees Lake Oswego. Learn about what food crops gardeners can grow in our area and when and how they grow. Sunday 2-3pm. $5.

A family music show with Portland's own Cat Doorman and The Good Ms. Padgett (sister-in-law and frequent touring companion of Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower) at Mississippi Studios. Sunday 3pm. $10 adults, $8 ages 2 and up.
