Weekend Warriors: 6/8-6/10

Make a recycled craft at the Warehouse Café with artist Heather Stellpflug this Friday.  Great for all ages.  Friday at 11.  $5/child.  

You have a few chances to catch Baby Loves Disco this weekend -  the dance party that the whole family can enjoy.  You can dance yourself silly at the Clackamas Town Center on Friday at 5 (free) or at the Crystal Ballroom on Saturday at 12 ($15).

The newly-opened Ping Pong's Pint Size Puppet Museum is presenting Dracula Re-Vamped, a live summer puppet show in the garden, three times this weekend.  Friday at 7, and Saturday at 3 and 7.  Please double-check for cancellations - 503 233 7723.  $6 for ages 3 and up.

The Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade is this Saturday starting at 10.  Highlights include 14 colorful, floral-covered floats and lots of music.  Unreserved seating is free.

Another fun Rose Festival highlight this weekend is dragon boat racing!  Check out the fun on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8.  Free to watch!

Pride NW and In Other Words present "Beautiful Families" - an official 2012 Portland Pride Event that celebrates all the forms families can take.  Kid-friendly activities include Bob the Magician, Olive Rootbeer & Dingo, face painting, arts & crafts, and more.  Sunday from 11 to 4 at In Other Words.  Free!

Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day.  You can head to Fort Vancouver on Saturday at 10 to celebrate.  There will be 50-60 booths with hands-on activities like climbing, fishing, dutch over cooking, orienteering, Frisbee golf, archery, and more.  Free!

Check out the music of Portlander Aszemar Glenn at the St Johns Theater & Pub on Saturday at 2:30.  Tickets are $10 at the door.

Take a Columbia Canoe Paddle on Vancouver Lake!  The boat is a stable, 34-foot canoe suitable for children 5 and up.  Sunday from 10 to 2.  Free!

The Dairy Farmers of Oregon have their annual milk carton boat race this Sunday from 11 to 3 at Westmoreland Park.  Free!

The Metropolitan Youth Symphony’s season finale is this Sunday at 7 at the Schnitz. Tickets start at $12.
