Check out the season finale of the Portland Youth Rock Orchestra at the Newmark Theatre on Friday at 7:30. Pieces range from Bach to the Beatles. Tickets start at $17 for students.
Kidical Mass is having a free bike ride in North Portland Saturday at 1.
Admission is free to the Historical Society on Saturday in celebration of its new exhibit, Oregon Voices. Kids can also decorate their own backpack and fill it with tools for exploring the outdoors. Museum hours are 10 to 5.
Celebrate Dad by making a necktie bookmark at Green Bean Books on Saturday from 11 to 4. Free!
On Saturday from 1 to 5, explore the Columbia Slough with a bilingual family environmental festival. Meet at the Whitaker Ponds Natural Area. Free!
Celebrate 100 years of the summer reading program at Multnomah County Library with games, crafts, and of course -cake! And pick up your game sheet for this summer's reading program. At the Central Library on Saturday from 2 to 3. Free!
Try out one of this summer's $5 5Ks, hosted by PP&R. This race will be held at Lents Park, and will include a free fun run for kids 8 and under, rock climbing, and other activities. Sunday at 9.
It's National Geek Dad Day on Sunday. OMSIwill be hosting several activities designed to stoke kids' passion for science, technology, engineering,and math. Activities are from 11 to 1 and 2 to 4 and are free with museum admission.
Take Dad out to McMenamin's Grand Lodge for the 8th Annual Great Pacific Northwest Microcar/Minicar Extravaganza. Sunday from 10 to 5. Free!
