What's your favorite date night?
Let's say that you have a sitter. And, absolutely no plans but to want to hang out with your partner. Maybe you can choose do wo whatever you want. What would you do? Dinner & a movie? A long walk? Window shopping somewhere? Drinks at a bar? A show or theater? Live music? I'm sure we all have different interests, but I would love the inspiration of your favorite/dream date night ideas.

Well, its been a L-O-N-G time since my husband and I have had a date night, but I can remember a few good ones in the not too far distant past. One of our favorite things to do as a couple is dream. One date night, when we couldn't find a movie to watch and had a few hours to kill before the sitter's time was up, my husband drove us out to the loop around Washington Park and we parked the car and held hands as we just sat and talked in the dark about all the great places we want to go and things we want to do.
We also like to go for drinks/dinner somewhere then sneak home and grab the dogs without letting the kids see us and go for a long dog walk just the two of us.

My dream date would include a delux hotel room at the beach or sunriver and all the spa treatments we could pack in. Not so sure that's my husbands dream date but it sure is mine.

Things we love to do on a date (not necessarily all in one night):
Dinner someplace we wouldn't take the kids to (Tapalaya, Chez Jolie, Lorenzo's)
Foot massages at Barefoot Sage
Cruise Powell's (we usually split up then meet when we're both done but it's still fun)
Late movie at a theatre or at home
Once we went to Glowing Greens and played mini golf!

We love seeing an afternoon movie followed by a burger and wine at our favorite bar.

We love to try new restaurants. We have fun looking through restaurant guides and online to pick a fun one to explore. But tonight's date night is a Timers game!

We look through the Chinook Book and see what coupons are in there to save a little money on dinner or drinks, then use it as an opportunity to explore someplace new.

After nearly six years of parenthood we recently decided it was time to splurge on a weekly date night. We grab a quick dinner and spend a couple hours together at the gym while our daughter stays at home with a trusted sitter. For us, that's bliss.

My husband and I cherish our date nights. We designate one night a week to put the kids (4 month old & 4 year old) to bed at 730. Then make some snacks, make drinks and watch all our favorite TV shows off the DVR we havent had any time to watch all week. When we do have a sitter, its usually drinks and dinner at an "adult" restaurant/bar.

Last night's date night was walking along the waterfront at the Rose Festival, people-watching and savoring the sunshine, followed by a movie/pizza at the Bagdad Cafe, followed by another neighborhood walk enjoying the quiet darkness and early spring gardens.

We love to get our boogy on together and listen to great music. It's so fun to feel so connected physically while being "out and about".

My husband took me to the drive-in in Newburg last Friday -- awesome! My favorite part was that it was an unplanned, no sitter, kids in tow date. But they were asleep by the middle of the first movie..so we still got to connect.

we love to walk to a restaurant or pub in the neighborhood. we always think that we'll follow that with a movie afterward, but truth be told we generally have so much fun talking that we miss the start time, then we're so tired we're glad that we didn't stay up for the movie!
also love to go watch a sports game somewhere - live or on tv - together. something we used to always do but now i stay home with the kids while he goes out with his buddies.
i'd love to get together with other friends, but we've never been successful in getting people to get sitters, too.

Motorcycle ride... nice day, winding road. It's sexy.

My favorite is going on dinner dates. This is more intimate compared to movie dates. We get the chance to talk. As they say, communication is vital to every relationship.
