Working Mamas Lunch May 22
Working mamas, let's get together for lunch. How about Thursday, May 22; 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at Red Star Tavern, 503 SW Alder? We hear they could use a boost due to light rail construction, plus they take reservations and have good vegetarian and non vegetarian food (not sure vegan options). Please RSVP in the comments by Tuesday May 20. We will use that to make reservations. We had nearly twenty meet last time, so what a great way to connect and meet other working mamas.
Wow. This could not have come along at a better time for me.
I am not a working mama.
But I will have to be soon. Full time, all the time. My daughter is 22 months and the thought of transistioning so suddenly to full time childcare has nearly paralyzed my productivity. I know that sounds strong but its becoming more and more true as the weeks pass.
I'd love to join you working experienced mamas out there and...hear some feedback, stories, make some connections, get some reassurance, maybe even some advice.
So, although I am not ACTUALLY a 'working mama', may I please join you? :-)

Of course! And even though we call it a working mamas lunch that includes all mamas. It just so happens that the majority of us that gather work outside the home close-to or near downtown and it's an easy event to set up.

I work part-time and share care with my partner. I would love to make the meet-up, but I have care of my daughter on Thursday afternoons. Could I bring my 7-month old, or is this lunch adults only?

I would love to attend, but this mama will be on a business trip in Boston that week! I'm so sorry I will miss it - I loved the last get-together.

re: Kids. I think there have been kids at a couple and a couple have been kid free. I am making the reservations and it does not matter to me.

I would love to attend and meet other working moms. I just recently returned to work full time and struggle with leaving my 4-month old every morning. Thanks for arranging this!

Just found this site and I love it. I'll be there and will need to bring my 3 1/2 month old. I'm going back to work in June, so it will be nice to talk with moms on how to handle that transition.

I am excited to find a group of working mom's! I have an 11m old son and I am starting a new job on 5/29 / returning to work after a 3 month break, so this is fabulous timing! Looking forward to it.

I made reservations at Red Star at 11:30 on Thursday 5/22. I counted 15 mamas and 4 (?) kids. It is under my name (Courtney) and there should be a note re: urbanMamas Lunch as well. I was not sure if we needed high chairs, but I let them know there would be kids so they can accommodate us. If more mamas sign up, I will add to the reservation. Please respond by Wednesday 5/21 @ noon. See you Thursday!

Well, it looks like I won't be making it today after all. My little one is sick for the very first time, so I'll be heading home to take care of her right after I get off work today at noon. Have fun all!
