Housecleaner Recommendations Part 4
Time for spring cleaning! Renee emails:
I was looking through the archives for housecleaning recommendations, and they last posting I found was for March 2007. I was wondering if there are any more recent recommendations for a good, reasonably priced housecleaner in SE Portland ?
For past threads on housecleaner recommendations, check out:

I am also thinking about having someone come in to clean. I would like to find someone who uses environmentally friendly products and works in NE. I'm an LMT and would be interested in trading my massage services for housecleaning!

We just recently started using Maid Brigade for a monthly housecleaning. They've come twice so far and we've been very happy with the results - it's so nice to have a REALLY clean house for a few days. It is totally a luxury, but I am so happy to have it.

We use Tidy Team Oregon. They offer eco-friendly cleaning at a great value, and are *excellent* at customer service. http://www.tidyteamoregon.com/

2 things to post, I have a fabulous house cleaner who cleans like no one I know. $15-$17 depending on how nitty gritty you need. She's trustworthy and hardworking. She uses your products if you want her to, which is nice because we use mostly green ones. Beatrice is her name, she's independent and is cash only. Please email me if you'd like her number. I highly reccomend her.
Which brings me to my next comment...I should put this on the activistas, but I'll be brief on here. It's so sad but maid brigade and other similar companies do not pay their employees a living wage--I've know quite a few women who have worked for that company and similar and they average about $7/hr, while the company makes more than 10X's that much. I've heard aweful stories, because a number of their employees are "undocumented", they are an easy target. There is even a documentary about these women "Maid in America"...okay that's all I have to say. Please do your research and make up your own mind.

I would love to get Beatrice's contact information, but I am not sure how to contact you. I don't have your email address.
thanks,
Renee

Hello Fellow Urban Mammas,
I am a stay at home mom of two who has recently started a cleaning service. I use all envionemently sound cleaning products that are safe to use around your little ones...many I make myself. I live in close in SE and am willing to travel. I am flexible in terms of how often you would like to have your house cleaned. If you are interested in talking to me, please email your contact number at powell4321@msn.com

I too am looking for a house cleaner, though, I am in NE. Anyone in the NE area that is happy with their house cleaner?
Thanks, Norana

I am looking for a house cleaner in inner SE. I am super picky and want someone who will do a thorough job, who is hard working, and will show up on time (or call if something comes up). Does anyone have a recommendation? The other posts on this subject are more than 6 months old.

I also use Tidy Team Oregon and love them! They are a smaller company run by a married couple. They are super thorough and the people they send into my home seem trustworthy and are very friendly. They use earth friendly products and are reasonably priced. I think they service the entire Portland area.

Hello Mamas! I am 30 weeks pregnant and work from home and am in need of a house cleaner (independant preferred!). I am getting too tired to do the heavy cleaning myself and would be looking for someone every other week. I live in SW Portland. PLEASE SEND ME RECS! :)
Thank you

Hi there,
It looks like most of these recommendations are quite a while ago. I am in the NE Portland/Gresham area, expecting my second baby in a few weeks and would love to find someone reliable to do a really thorough cleaning and then maintenance cleaning about twice a month. Send me some recommendations, please! My email is annecmay@comcast.net if you'd prefer to get in touch that way. Thanks!
