Underpants for kids with slim legs?
We know Sarah is not the only one with this issue:
I have a little guy with skinny legs and we are venturing into training pants territory. I want to get cloth but have found the few I've gotten my hands on to be loosey-goosey even in the smallest size. Any recomendations?

Many people (me too) just skip training pants altogether and just use plain ol underwear. My girl is skinny too (she's 4.5 and still wearing 2T3T underwear). I've had the best luck with the Hanes and whatever you can get at Target. The 2T3T underwear is over by the baby section, not the little kid section (at least at my Target).
While the Hanna underwear is pretty, its sizing is ridiculous on my girl and it's expensive. Skip pricey ones, especially early on - sometimes I ended up just throwing particular pairs out.
Also, at home, we just went naked most of the time. Less mess, eh?

I've got a skinny minny on my hands too, and while he's 4 and 1/2 now, the gap and gymboree briefs have always worked for him, i.e., tight enough on the legs. those carter's training ones were always baggy and in fact 2 years later are still baggy. not sure whose legs they fit! gymboree has good sales and they last foever. the babygap ones have lasted really well, too, and they do have soem without the logo all over them. both stores ahv cute patterns (lions, lobsters, pumpkins, snowmen, etc...). granted he's still happily in the 3-4 size, but i'm used to the small sizes for him by now. good luck getting those leg holes tight enough!

My son is also quite slim. Regular undies fit him well, but we were really in need of training pants to avoid all those puddles during our months of potty training. We LOVED www.theecstore.com for all his trainers. It's an online store for those who practice elimination communication with their babes. We do not but liked that their products are made for smaller frames. Click on the training pants link - you'll see the 'design your own EC pants' options. There are waterproof ones and non-waterproof ones (for when they are past the puddle stage and on to the leaking stage). Then you can choose to have snap sides or sewn sides, thin pants or thicker pants and your desired print. They fit my son like regular underwear so his pants were easier to pull up over them and he felt like a big boy. I sound like I work for them but really, we just loved their product THAT much. Good luck!

If only I had this problem. My son recommends commando, much to my chagrin.

We used the Imse Vimse cotton training underwear which was still somewhat absorbent, but a bit slimmer than other (and slimmer leg openings). But for real training, we just went commando and that worked better than anything else!

Nikky training pants are great. My daughter is very little and they worked great. You can get them at Babyworks.com (located in NW Portland).
Also, at least for girls, I've found Nordstrom to have great underpants (N Kids brand). I think they're suppose to be bikini but they fit her like you expect a normal pair of underwear as opposed to some they almost go above her waist.
