Seeking NE Mamas
uMamas, do you know of an ongoing playgroup for Maria? Would you like to be part of one? There are new urbanMamas in the NE wanting to connect!
I am a new urbanMama and a new mama in the lookout for a play group /date for my 8 month old baby boy Santiago. We live in NE and would like to meet other mamas and bebes around our area, and we are both free every afternoon! I would like to meet other mamas who speak Spanish or who are interested in teaching /speaking Spanish to thier babies. Thanks for posting this and for hepling me find other mamas who are also sick of the rain but ready to play!

Hi! My Spanish probably isn't good enough to participate. But I was thinking about you when I was looking up the library's book baby times and ran across this:

Rockwood

Also, I think the Portland Early Learning Project has a Spanish language play class that they charge for - not the same thing, I know, but I bet both the library and PELP would be good places to meet like-minded mamas.

Also, did the folks at Bella Stella organize a Spanish language play group?

I'd love to be a part of a Spanish-language play group/date. My son, Jonas, is 4 1/2 months old, and we live in NE. I am going to be working full-time soon, but I will have 1 weekday free until June. I am not a native Spanish-speaker, but I wish my mom (who is a native speaker) would have this kind of thing available to her when I was a babe.

Peninsula Park Community Center has a great play time scheduled for little ones up to 18 mo on Tuesdays. Not sure on the time, 9 or 9:30 - 11.
I think the N. Portland Library has spanish story time too!

My hubby and I have taken Spanish here and there and REALLY want our daughter to learn at a young age. I'd love a chance to learn more and teach her. She is currently 16 months old. If you wouldn't mind a newbie Spanish-speaker, I'd love to join your playgroup..

This seems to be an outdated posting but I am also a spanish-speaking mother in search of a spanish-speaking playgroup! I have two girls ages 3 and 1 that only speak spanish to me (the 3 year old can communicate to others in english but with me it is only spanish). If there are others out there that are interested in continuing this native-like environment, let me know! We live close in...in southwest but are willing to travel a bit! gabrielavb@hotmail.com
Thanks!
Alex
