UrbanPapa Get Together
There was a post on the need for opportunities for Papas and Papas-to-be to meet, greet and swap stories, advice, or what have you. Putting together a group like that has been on my to-do list for many, many months.
I am now a Papa for the second-time - Gael Cesario Fuentes was born on 11/30, all is well with him, his Mama and his adoring big sister. I realize that I just need to do this thing or it may never happen, so here it goes:
What: UrbanPapa Thang - a chance to meet other dads, enjoy some complimentary coffee, and/or just hang out
When: Thursday, December 21, 10 am - Noon at Milagros, 5433 Ne 30th Avenue. If all goes well, this will become a regular thing on the third Thursday of every month. I'll keep you posted on that.
What to bring: Yourself, your infant, toddler, or preschool aged kid(s) - kid is not required. If you want to bring a snack to share, go for it but not required.

thanks for the bravery- its never easy to go out on a limb and see if something is going to fly. i've told my part time SAHD boyfriend about the meeting and he's up to as long as his schedule permits that week!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I know Chris can't make Papa things on weekdays but if there are other things I'll strongly encourage him to attend :)

Congratulations! and great idea for a get-together. I'm going to be out of town that day so I'd bet Jonathan would love to come with Everett and Truman! I'll put it on his calendar :)

I'm hoping to get my stay-at-home-dad husband to go, but I've already signed the kids up for FREE SWIMMING LESSONS at Dishman Pool that week. Maybe they can drop by after 10:30 or so...
I hope this group gets off to a roaring success!

Folks,
Thanks for the congrats and for helping spread the word about this little group start-up. I realize that this will be working hours for many Pops but hopefully we can still enjoy a comfortable turn out of Papas.
