Seeking Infant Care in SW

Help a mama out! Writes Melissa:

I'm starting my search for child care for infants in the SW region of Portland (Hillsdale, Multnomah Village). I would be so delighted and appreciative for any advice you could offer. Thank you so much!

Both my girls attend and they are really great at infant/toddler
Let me know if you have questions. :)

I would highly recommend you check out the childcare section in Craigslist. I live in the NW suburbs and have had great success in finding safe, loving and nurturing care for my infant son.

We have had good luck with caregivers placement agency:

If your interested in a nanny share my wife and I just signed up online at http://www.findanannyshare.com. It’s basically a list of parents in the area who are looking for another family to nanny share with. Please take a moment to write a paragraph about your child and what you are looking for in a share.

We had luck with this free service: the Oregon Childcare Resource and Referral Network "is a statewide network of 17 community based child care resource and referral agencies that work to improve the quality, accessibility, and affordability of child care for all Oregon families." You can do an online search of all licensed in-home and care centers and they will also help you over the phone and send you a customized list!

I just recently moved to Vancouver from Georgia and am looking for some sort of Mommies Morning Out program either in WA or OR. A church offered it back in GA and it was two days a week for two hours in the morning. I have a 19 month old son who needs to meet other children, have some playtime, and give me a little break. Any advice would be great!

Thank you!

BSB in SW ( Murray and Allen) has 2 infant openings due to recent expansion. This is rare and infants on our waiting list are all grown up.
We are RIE and Reggio based and are known for our great outdoors. Our classroom is called Cottage nestled among tall fir trees. Our ratios are low.
Check our photo gallery to get an idea. Parents provide food. Our hours are strictly 8 to 5 for young ones so that we can maintain continuity with our staff. Call for tour.

We shared a nanny and it worked out great. After trying several web sites, we ended up having the best luck with this site: http://www.sharenanny.com. It's free to sign up and we managed to find a great family to share a nanny with. Good luck!
