Fun for the Whole Swashbuckling Family!

Lynx Ahoy mateys! It is not too early to mark your calendars in ink for a pirate festival fit for the whole family. The Portland Pirate Festival brings a cargo-load of music, flair, and fun to scenic Cathedral Park on September 23. Among the many activities, the event will feature performances by Captain Bogg & Salty and other groups, pirate re-enactments, a pirate play village, and - most impressively - a replica of a "privateer ship:"  The Lynx.

Don't be afraid to come in costume!

This has been on my calender for months already! My whole family (including my brother and father) is going. I am just as excited about it as my son...For anyone who hasn't heard Captain Bogg & Salty, you gotta check them out. They'll make you smile. (Or snarl, in a good way.) For us, this is the last bash of the summer. Yar!

Yar! We've also been anticipating this one for months. Nothing better than Bogg and Salty!

This sounds like an event that my son will absolutely love! Thanks for the info!

What time? Sounds like fun!

We've been looking forward to this for months too! I'm already planning our costumes - you all ARE wearing costumes right?

We will be there with costumes ON! We previewed our outfits at a party in Seattle earliest this month and anxiously await an excuse to wear them again.

In answer to the question of time of the fest: The most up to date info can be found at the event website:

I believe the event is 10 am - 10 pm. See you there!

we're excited to have a great, family friendly event like this in st. johns! for those who don't yet have costumes, lilytoad is having a pirate costume craft event on Friday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 and 2:30 (yep, two times!).....stop in with the kiddos to make costumes that they (or you?!) can wear to the festival. we'll also be making a chest full of marks of eight from clay - what a pirate without some treasure?
