On becoming a "mama blogger"
I'm excited to share something with y'all: I have two new articles up at the wonderful Mothers Movement Online. In The Blogging Mom Clique: Anyone Can Join, I talk about what it was like to join the community of blogging mothers (of course, I mention urbanMamas!). In A Weblog of One's Own, I outline how to get started with your own blog.
If you've never been to MMO before, be sure to click around. The editor, Judith Stadtman Tucker, does an amazing job of collecting links, presenting original material, and writing her own super-smart editorials, all of which focus on the intersection of motherhood and feminism.

I'm very much enjoying this month's MMO issue: on mamas in blogland. I'll ditto Asha's endorsement of MMO. It's smart & on-point, and it speaks to the feminist mama in me.
I also read Andi Buchanan's piece among the articles, and am reminded that Andi's Literary Mama will be hosting a Mother Talk salon here in Portland in April. Very much looking forward to that!

The blogging clique piece was the first post I read of yours, Asha, and I was hooked. I loved your sense of humor! I find that I keep multiple blogs to satisfy various pieces of me. It helps to separate and organize my thoughts, aside from urbanMamas, I contribute to OregonLive, and keep a personal account of my boys to keep friends and family across the country apprised of their changes.
