Tuition-Free Public School for Grades K–12
The Oregon Connections Academy's website describes the program as a public school that students can attend from home. The program combines:
- the expertise and accountability of publicly funded education,
- strong parental involvement,
- and the flexibility of online classes.
We are considering this program for fall 2009. Our current PPS public school is no longer in our neighborhood, and doesn't have the curriculum offerings available at other PPS schools anyway. The Connections Academy offers all the core class, plus languages, art, music, and other electives. Books and materials are provided by the program. Does anyone have any experience with the school?
There's also an email group for any parents thinking of enrolling in a Connections Academy school program. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OregonConnectionsAcademy/
