Creative Science School info

does anyone have first hand experience with CSS?  i'm curious about the curriculum beyond the info on their site.  my 1st grader seems to be a quick study, tests well etc and our current school's suggestion has always been to have her skip a grade.  we don't want to do that, so we're looking for a learning environment that allows children to accelerate at their own pace.  we don't want her to get bored at school, which is starting to happen more and more, but socially -- at her current location at any rate -- she's just not ready to skip an entire year.  would CSS be a good match or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Creative Science School Tours and Information Nights

The Creative Science School is a focus option program within the Portland Public Schools for children in grades K-8.  Students are encouraged to be independent thinkers, learners and problem solvers.  Our students develop and demonstrate the ability to create questions, formulate solutions and apply results throughout their lives.  Creative Science School teachers guide and assist the children in learning through experience and experiments.

REQUIRED INFORMATION NIGHTS are scheduled for February 5th and March 2nd from 6:30-8 pm.  You will have the chance to ask questions, visit classrooms, and obtain applications.
