Jefferson has a “Get Involved With Jeff Schools” listserv for families, school staff, community members and organizations to share information about the Jefferson community schools, including volunteer and fundraising opportunities, events, student internships, scholarships, school-related links, and much more.

The Jefferson community schools are Beach, Boise-Eliot, Chief Joseph, Faubion, Humboldt, Jefferson, King, Ockley Green, Vernon, and Woodlawn.

The Jefferson PTSA is currently working on two fundraisers. Could you use a new book, DVD or some flowers for yourself, a friend, or family member?!

Garden Bulb Sale: The deadline for ordering sensational garden bulbs and plants is Friday, April 11. Think birthday gifts, Mother's Day, to say THANK YOU, or thinking of you. Jefferson BookFair at the Lloyd Center Barnes and Noble store! Circle your calendars for the weekend of April 19 and 20. Shop from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M.
Purchase anything in the store - Books, DVD’s, Starbucks Coffee and Jefferson will receive a portion of the total sales for the weekend. Live entertainment provided by our students! Artwork, projects and information on display. This is our opportunity to showcase the great work by our students. Tell your friends! Tell your family! Tell your neighbors!

Ladies & Gentleman -- YWA & YMA is now enrolling students grades 6-10

Hello Everyone,

Come one, come all! Please let family, friends and co-workers in the Portland area, who have students in grades 6-10, know the following:

* Jefferson High School's Young Women's Academy and Young Men's Academy will be accepting applications now through July 31st, 2008!

* The Harriet Tubman Leadership Academy for Young Women, which focuses on science and math, is located on the Tubman Campus at 2231 N. Flint Ave., Portland, Ore. 97227 (near Legacy Emanuel Hospital). For information on tours and open houses, call 503-916-5630. The YWA administrator is Ms. Aurora Lora.

* The Young Men's Academy, which focuses on business and leadership, is housed on the Jefferson Campus, 5210 N. Kerby, Portland, Ore. 97217 (across the street from Portland Community College). For information on tours and open houses, call 503-916-5180. The YMA administrator is Mr. Marshall Haskins.

* Both academies are open to students throughout the Portland Public Schools District and are not limited to Jefferson cluster students!
