Beachy keen!

July 16, 2011

Surf, sun, sandcastles, and sweet pictures!

I have two more coastal sessions coming this summer on August 10-16 and September 13-19.

Bring the kids, the whole family, or just the two of you! Have a little vacation, and have those wonderful smiles and smirks preserved on black & white and color film.

I’ll be in Neskowin, so there’s no travel fee from Cannon Beach to Newport. (I love any excuse to drive along the coast.) Reserve soon before it’s booked!

Share your travel stories with Cascadia Kids

March 15, 2010

Hi, I've recently started a new blog on traveling in the Pacific Northwest with kids: http://www.cascadiakids.com

I'm looking for cool and unique stories of Northwest travel with kids -- anywhere in Washington, Oregon or British Columbia. If you've stayed in an unusual hotel or B&B, eaten in a fantastic kid-friendly restaurant or otherwise have great travel tips for other NW parents, I'd love to hear about it!

For example, this week, I'm interviewing a BC mom who stayed with her family at a working-farm B&B. Other items this week -- family hikes in the Portland area, daytripping in Bellingham and iPhone apps for
NW-based family travel.

If you're interested, I'll interview you by e-mail or phone. If you  have photos from your trip, I'd love to see them. If you don't, I'll find photos that will work.

E-mail your tips to cascadiakids@lorashinn.com. If you want to stay anonymous, that's OK too. Please forward this e-mail to your well-traveled friends!

Affordable Beach House for Rent: Near Manzanita and Cannon Beach

September 17, 2009

Hello UM families.

We are looking to rent out our beach cabin on the Northern Oregon Coast, halfway between Cannon Beach and Manzanita -- only a few miles from Short Sands / Oswald West State Park.  It is a newly constructed modern cabin with all necessary amenities:  wood stove (with safely gate), cooking essentials, outdoor fire pit, decks, wireless internet.  There is one large bedroom with a queen bed and crib, plus a sleeping loft with two full futons.  Sleeps 4 - 6.  Great surfing, hiking and strolling nearby.

Our rental fees are $250 for a weekend (fri thru sun) and $100 per weekday night.  No cleaning fee, no deposit, no rigid check-in or check-out times.  You would wash the sheets and towels and leave the cabin how you found it.  We do not advertise on craigslist or rental sites, houses in this area rent for well over $150 night plus fees.

Attached is an outdated exterior photo (landscape has filled in since it was taken), but I plan on taking some more this weekend!

For inquiries, please contact Fran:  franbad04@comcast.net
