Earthquake Drills at Child Care Centers?

Hello Mamas,

We would really appreciate hearing about earthquake drills at child care centers for infants.  Do you know if your baby's center conducts them and what they do? 

(The recent drill at my baby's center did not seem safe and I'm trying to learn what is typically done and what is the best practice.)

Postpartum Chiropractic Care on NE Broadway

Postpartum chiropractic care on NE Broadway. I just had a baby about a month ago and my body was wrecked from the pregnancy and labor. My body continues to have aches and pains from holding my new baby, etc. I went to Flores Chiropractic at 2916 NE Broadway and I am finally starting to feel normal again! I am finally getting back to normal and feel I am able to start exercising again without pain. It is great. Plus Dr. Flores is really nice, laid-back, down to earth guy who really seems to care. Are you a mom? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the realities of motherhood? You are not alone! Please join us in a counseling process and support group for mothers with children 8 years old or younger. Group meetings will focus on the emotional exploration of the idea of motherhood and the disconnect with the reality of what motherhood really means.
Group will be cofacilitated by Alison Stawicki, MS, NCC, a professional adult individual counselor and Lindsay McGrath, MS, a professional marriage and family therapist.

Recommendations for Pediatricians?

I am hoping a mama out there can give me a good recommendation for a pediatrician. Our little peanut was born 11 weeks early and is still in the NICU...however, he is doing really well and the doctors plan to discharge him in 4 weeks. We need a doctor who specializes in premature babies......any suggestions??

This fall, the Oregon Midwifery Council will be presenting a BOLD: Red Tent Event. To read more about the project, click below: http://www.birthonlaborday.com/redtent/howto.html  The birth stories of about 10 local women will be performed (either by an actress, or the mother herself), to an audience of a few hundred.  These stories will represent a variety of births: home, birth center, and hospital. Vaginal and Cesarean, old and young mamas, first babies and fifth babies, all walks of life, etc, etc.

Can someone recommend a good family therapist?

Here's the situation: My extended family lives in Portland and my mom and I need to resolve some "issues".  To most people, our issues are insignicant - they revolve around family obligations and how much time my mother expects my husband and I to spend with everyone (sister's family, parents, etc)

I don't know how the problem is going to get resolved without an impartial third-party and my mom has agreed to seeing a therapist with me. Anyone have any suggestions? We are both very strong-willed, opinionated women (just to keep that in mind)
