Munire Crib Recall

As we were trying to lower the mattress support on our daughter's crib last night, I happened to look up the manufacturer's website to find instructions on how to do so, and noticed a recall for her crib that was coincidentally posted the same day. (We purchased our crib at Segal's in June of 2007.) The recall is in effect for several of the manufacturer's cribs because the support brackets on the mattress support spring are too long, preventing the spring from lowering to the full 26 inch minimum height in its lowest position, allowing children inside to crawl over the railing, posing a fall hazard.

To correct the hazard Munire is sending new replacement spring brackets to anyone who has a recalled crib. I called today, and it was very easy; they're sending the replacement brackets out today. I just wanted to pass on this information in case there are any other mamas out there who purchased Munire cribs in the past two years and have not seen the recall information.
