Doula Recommendations Needed (and daycare, too!)
Hello Mamas,
My husband and I are so excited to be having our first child at the beginning of July! And I can't believe it's time to start exploring these things already, but I'm looking for both doula and daycare recommendations. I know there is the childcare forum on here and I'm keeping an eye on it, but there doesn't seem to be a place for doula info. So if you know of, have experience with, or have a friend who has experience with a really great doula (or daycare), please let me know. Also, please let me know if there are any you think I should avoid. Thanks so much for your help!
Cheers,
Kristin

Hi Kristin,
When I had my daughter 9 months ago, I found a student doula through Birthingway. The students there need to attend to a certain number of births to be certified so they offer their services pro bono. My husband and I met with, and really took a liking to Kristin Murdoch (kris.murdoch@gmail.com). She did a great job and I would recommend her! (I would also recommend checking out Birthingway's website to see what other students may be interested in gaining some experience and helping you out!).

Hi! I was a doula with Mothertree before I got married, and know many doulas around the PDX area. I HIGHLY recommend Raeben Nolan at Mothertree. She's wise, intuitive, knowledgeable, has been a doula for years, has supported mamas in many different birth settings and situations, has amazing herbal knowledge and is even a placenta medicine practitioner if you are interested in that!
