Perinatologist recommendation
I am in the Northern California area in Vacaville halway between Sacramento, San Francisco, and Oakland. My fiance and I are TTC our second child together. I have a son from a previous relationship and delivered him early due to preeclampsia in 2003. Before that I had 4 miscarriages. I had another pregnancy after him in 2010 that ended in a miscarriage. My most recent pregnancy ended in a stillbirth at 39weeks4days on 12/22/11 (his due date was 12/25/11) Due to my pregnancy history I am looking for a good high risk Perinatologist/ OBGYN. I am willing to travel for a good doctor so that I can have peace of mind. I have had many losses and I am in no way naive to the factg that the next one end up in loss too but I want a doctor that will take my concerns seriously and think outside the box regarding my issues. I know my body and I'll be damned if I get another doctor that ignores me because my swelling isn't accompanied with an extremely high BP and this is only trace protein in my urine. I had an appointment the day before he died with severe swelling in my legs, feet, hands, and face. I told him I didnt feel him moving as much. But I was sent home. In the morning I didn't feel him moving. I would appreciate any recommendations? I have some choices as I am a veteran and can get fee basis from the VA and through my job I have health insurance for Kaiser. I have changed my OB/GYN to one in Napa and hope he is a better fit than my other one from Vacaville who I feel let me down on several different levels. Oh, and a question, through Kaiser do you have to be referred to a perinatologist because when changing my OB I didnt notice any that specialized in perinatolgy that I could select for my OB? Any help on that regard would be much appreciated.

I am sorry to hear about your pregnancies. I have Kaiser and was referred to a peri because I am diabetic. I had a GREAT experience with Dr. Murphy as a regular OB and Dr. Steven Freidman as my peri. They were a great team. They both performed my second c-section. They are in Beaverton, Oregon.
