Art ala Carte opens in Sellwood
Art ala Carte is a hub for local artists of all ages. Located in the heart of Sellwood, Art ala Carte, promotes free based art with little to no instruction. Children are encourage to self serve their supplies out of the "art bars" (made from restaurant salad bars) with no parent clean up needed! This is a mini-artists playground with a huge chalk board wall, 15 foot coloring mural and every supply under the sun (both recycled and new supplies). Birthday parties are offered as well as a weekly Parent Night Out every Friday night from 6-9:30.
Aria Chittenden, owner and mother of one, strives to make Art ala Carte accessible to all families. Art ala Carte charges per day, not per hour or project, in efforts to stay consistent and affordable to parents. If you receive a stamp you are able to come back later in the day. Which is great for parents because we all know accidents happen, naps are needed and sometimes a quick walk around the park is necessary to get the creative juices flowing.
