Toddler snacks with Omega-3 in them?

I am trying to find some snacks that have omega-3 added.

This is for a toddler (20 months of age) who does not get omega-3 through nursing.

I need something that he can eat five days a week at daycare, since I only get to see my son once during the week, and every other weekend.

His mother is nursing him still, but she does not take omega-3 supplements, despite my efforts, and she does not give him any solid food with omega-3 in it.

Are you a mama bothered & distracted by the recent headlines?

Hi there-

I came to the UM site after being distracted more than once by the recent news of a mother attempting to send her children to their death in order to avoid losing custody. I thought there might be a discussion here (thinking this is not a happy topic, is this even appropriate discussion for UM site?). I don't know about all you other busy mamas, but I am your normal busy mama with 2 kids/work/playdates, etc... but this time I am really really bothered emotionally by the recent headline and incident where a mother alledgedly tossed her two children over the Sellwood bridge, ending up with a fatality to a 4 yr old boy. Its so heavy on my mind I've been trying to figure out how or what I might be able to do to get involved in some tiny way to help prevent another distressed mama from doing something awful to another toddler or child. This hits me hard of course since I have 2 toddlers 4 and under. Is anyone else really struggling with this? What resources are there for women who are considering hurting thier children and are they reaching out to communities? I get bogged down whenever I see/hear this story and media is not helping since they are recounting the incident over and over. Are there grass-roots efforts out there to help women (or men) in situations where they feel they have no options but to hurt or end thier child's life - and how do we reach them? Is this event causing a reasonable distraction for you each day? What do other mamas think?

Nurture is happy to present a Summer Parenting Workshop Series

Moving Beyond a Difficult Birth:
Embracing Healing and Connecting with Your Baby
Two-part workshop: June 6 & 13, 2-4pm $45
Part One: Healing through Birth Story and Art
Part Two: Connecting Deeply with Your Baby
The experience of birth doesn’t always happen the way we imagine. Intense emotions from a challenging pregnancy or birth can make it feel difficult to be fully present with your baby. These emotions need and deserve to be expressed and acknowledged, before we can allow ourselves to release them and begin true emotional healing. Then we can relax more deeply into a heartfelt, intuitive connection with our children.

So This is What it’s Like to Be a Parent?
Integrating Emotional Wellness with the Realities of Day-to-Day Parenting

July 11, 2-5pm $35
The reality of parenting a child can be frustrating, chaotic, and overwhelming. We may be surprised by the intensity of feelings such as rage, grief, or resentment. Without learning to truly take care of ourselves, it is difficult to move beyond these feelings toward emotional wellness as parents.

Parents are People Too:
Reclaiming Our Personal Expression as Parents

August 22, 2-4pm $30
As a parent, it is so easy to get caught up in the flow of daily obligations, leaving little time or energy for expressing who we are and what captures our imagination. Yet this creative exploration is essential to feeling fulfilled in our lives, which in turn translates into feeling more relaxed and happy in our role as parents.

Join us for all three workshops for $100, sliding scale available.

French storytime apologies

Dear mamas and children,

We have just been told that many of you showed up at the Cafe for the French story time on Tuesdays. We both have children and we understand how frustrating it might have been to go across town to an event that had been canceled.
Because of a misunderstanding on our part, the event had not been removed from the calendar. We will offer it again in the Fall but had to stop at the moment.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope we will see you again. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. You can also check our website for updates at www.fabulations.org

Sincerely,

Carine and Jane
