Seeking Chiropractic Assistance/LMT Position
Chiropractic Assistant/Licensed Massage Therapist Position Wanted:
I am looking for a part time position as a chiropractic assistant, with
the potential to stay on as a massage therapist after I receive my
license in early 2009. One of my best resources for anything mama
related has been my local "urbanMamas" parenting community. I thought
I would make a post here with my goals, ideas, and motivations in case
anyone out there is, or knows of a local chiropractor looking for some
help in this area.
My proposal: Ideally I would love to find a position one
day a week (to start) as a chiropractic assistant while I study for my LMT boards this winter, with progression
into a massage therapist position post licensure. Once I have my
license I have the idea for a promotional program in a chiropractor's
office to both bring in new clientele (for the chiropractor) as well as
to thank current patients for their referrals.
About myself: I am currently a massage therapy student in my fourth term at Eastwest College in Portland, as well as a Mama to my two year old son, and a wife to an amazing husband. I live and go to school in NE Portland and love to support my community. My father is a chiropractor in Ashland Oregon, so I literally, have a life long history in holistic health care. My husband and I have been established in Portland for the past seven years and plan to stay for our son's education. My son is two and I am committed to the example that I set for him as a loving, strong, educated, health conscious, woman. I am particularly fascinated with deep tissue work, and women's health, and plan on exploring these areas further in my continuing education.
If you're a fellow parent reading this who happens to know of a chiropractor who could benefit from something like this I welcome your email about them. If you are a like minded chiropractor in the community and would like to talk to me further about my education, areas of interest, or how I might assist you in your practice I would love to speak to you also.
