Multnomah Village is proud to close their “main street” and celebrate Multnomah Days this August 16th 2008! Its our 100th anniversary year. The Multnomah Village Business Association organizes the event with the help of very special sponsors. Join us for the “Biggest Little” parade and Commissioner Sam Adams’s favorite one-day street fair in Portland.
The day is centered around the ten o’clock parade, lasting about an hour, so be ready to laugh and shout. Bands, cars, dogs and more will entertain you. The parade is only six blocks long on Capitol Highway through the center of the Village. Come early to check out the booths and get the perfect spot for your whole family. Over 60 vendors will line the streets showcasing art, food, crafts and merchandise.
Interested in becoming a vendor? A 10x10 booth is $50! For more info for vendor opportunities, contact: Luke Huffstutter: 971-219-4044: vendor@multnomahvillage.org
Hello urbanMamas!
If so, please join us in forming the Portland Pediatric Health Cooperative!
I am looking for someone to come into my home to evaluate what needs to be done and to help make it happen. I am specifically looking for someone who is reliable, experienced, and professional. I called "Portland babyproofers" but the dude never calls back. (: I am tired of waiting and do not have time or the skills to do this project myself.
I will support you or your child in getting to the root issue/pattern that is causing the problem, as well as supporting you in regaining a sense of hope, clarity and balance in your life. As a Creative, interactive, solution-focused Art Therapist, my treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns.
With sensitivity and compassion, Together we will work together to find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues. Blending conventional and alternative creative approaches such as Art Therapy, photo therapy.

Are you looking for a place to live where your kids can run free and connect with the land, but still remain within easy reach of Portland’s urban amenities? Do you long to shrink your family’s ecological footprint and join together with others in pursuing a more sustainable lifestyle? Is the idea of a multigenerational, supportive and caring community a vision that resonates with your family? Would you like to be able to eat fresh, organic food grown on a small farm in your own backyard?
If so, Columbia Ecovillage might be for you. We are a new family-friendly cohousing community forming in Northeast Portland that combines individual home ownership with the use of shared community space on a functional urban farmstead. Located on 3.75 acres lush with mature nut and fruit trees, a flock of chickens, and a community-supported agriculture farm, the Ecovillage is now taking purchase reservations for condominium units ranging from 500+square foot studios to 1200+square foot 3 bedrooms, with an anticipated November 2008 move-in date. The site is close to the Concordia New Seasons and there are two frequent-service TriMet bus route stops on or near the property.
To learn more about the community and membership and purchase pathways, and to view floorplans, site maps, and our community vision and values, visit our websites at http://www.columbiaecovillage.net and http://www.columbiaecovillage.com.
Sprig & Sprout is a locally owned and mama operated culinary herb business. My NE Alberta backyard greenhouse is where I grow many kinds of culinary herbs without the use of chemicals. The herbs are grown organically yet are not officially certified organic. I use organic seed when possible, organic soil, organic fertilizer, and plastic pots, which I will gladly take back to recycle and reuse.
Currently, I have the following culinary herbs available for $2.50 each:

My name is Liz Eddleman. I am the Resident Outreach & Resource Coordinator for an affordable housing building located in Clackamas County. I am looking for people who have a heart for outreach into the community. This summer we (our apartment complex) have been sponsored by North Clackamas School District as the first and only free summer lunch site on the East side of the I-205 within the district. I have been given the awesome task of recruiting volunteers to organize and provide fun activities for the children we will feed through our program.
