Does anyone know of a good home safety "babyproofer"?
I am looking for someone to come into my home to evaluate what needs to be done and to help make it happen. I am specifically looking for someone who is reliable, experienced, and professional. I called "Portland babyproofers" but the dude never calls back. (: I am tired of waiting and do not have time or the skills to do this project myself.

3 years ago Portland babyproofers was the way to go. I bought a gate from him and had great service. Several friends did actually hire him and were amazed at how great his babyproofing was and worth the price. I'd keep trying him as I haven't heard of anyone else.

English accent? We used this guy. We loved this guy. I think he sometimes has trouble calling back because he a) has his own family and b) works as a paramedic as well.
He was terrific. We could have done a lot of the stuff ourselves, although it would have taken us a lot longer to do than it took him. But he also solved a couple of thorny problems, by building a babygate for the stairs with an opening that allowed the cat to reach the litterbox and by creating plexiglass covers for an antique cabinet that didnt have modern (safer) glass in its doors.

I also recommend Babyproofers of Portland. The guy (I believe he's Australian) who owns the company is great. I think he has someone else working with him now and I don't know if he's as good, but we loved having him do our babyproofing. Thorough and very reasonably priced.

We also used Babyproofers of Portland. We have a winding staircase with custom cerry wood posts that we needed to gate. He devised the perfect solution with no damage of any sort to our wood. Gave us lots of other helpful hints as well since we were first time parents.

Another kudos to Babyproofers. I actually think he's the only one around. He's very reasonable with his prices of items. You can buy them from him and install yourself or have him install. We constantly remember tips that he gave us on our walk through and that was over a year ago. Great guy, very well worth the time and money!! Oh and he has cool stuff that is not seen in Babys R Us or those places, like these "top locks" we had installed instead of the plastic door handle covers, these "top locks" are 100% better.
