Complimentary Dental Exam

Hello Mamas!

We invite you to make an appointment for your child for a complimentary dental exam which we offer for children under the age of two in Portland, Beaverton and all surrounding communities.

A Report of the Surgeon General found dental caries (cavities) to be the most chronic childhood disease – five times more common than asthma and seven times more common than hay fever.

Dental caries is a preventable and transmissible oral disease that can begin as soon as your child’s first tooth begins to erupt. Learn more at our website: www.visitworldofsmiles.com.

At World of Smiles, Pediatric Dentistry we believe that “Education and Prevention lead to healthy smiles and happy kids.”

This is why we are offering Complimentary exams for children under the age of two. Call us today to schedule an appointment!

BabyBlossomBows - super cute headbands that don't hurt your baby's head

Hello Mamas,
I started making headbands for my second daughter because I got tired of the store bought ones
leaving marks on her head. Since then I've started making them for my older daughter and then for
other peoples girls. I have found a small way to maybe make a little extra money, as things are very tight, and give people something pretty for the little girls in their life at the same time. So I'm writing to you all
to get myself out there and share my BabyBlossomBows with everyone. The headbands are soft and comfortable, and I can make just about any color you want, with bows and flowers on them.
They are only $4.00 each. If interested contact me at: familymann930@netzero.com
Here are just a few of the ones I have made:

Thanks so much for reading my post,
Rachel

PS I make up new ones all the time

Student Doula

Hello Portland Mamas!

I am a student doula (through Birthingway College of Midwifery) and am looking for mamas who are interested in working with me! A doula is an activist and a support person for mothers before, during, and after labor. I have been trained as a labor doula but can also offer postpartum help such as breastfeeding support.

I believe that women are lucky (yes, lucky) to be able to go through the childbearing process and would love to help you write and stick to a birth plan. My goal is to make birth a positive memorable experience for you, your baby, and any birth partner.

Doulas can tend to be expensive (especially is Portland, where demand is high) and my rate is income based and negotiable. Choosing a doula is extremely difficult and I know many other doulas (students and certified) in Portland who would also love to meet you!

Have any questions? E-mail me and I will get back to you!

Earthquake Drills at Child Care Centers?

Hello Mamas,

We would really appreciate hearing about earthquake drills at child care centers for infants.  Do you know if your baby's center conducts them and what they do?

(The recent drill at my baby's center did not seem safe and I'm trying to learn what is typically done and what is the best practice.)

Thank you!
Shaky Mama
