Infant/Toddler nanny seeking new family in inner pdx

February 10, 2012

Hello,

My name is Wendy and I have been working in the child care industry for the past 3.5 years, however, I have over 10 years experience caring for children, including raising a step son.  I have passed a National background check and Oregon's background check for child care workers. I am First Aid/CPR Certified and have obtained 400+ hours in Early Childhood Education. There for I am confident that I have the experience and the qualifications that you are seeking in a caregiver.

Most of my experience is with wobblers and toddlers (1-3 year olds) as this is my favorite age group.  I do however; have experience with children of all ages. I have cared for children on a one-on-one basis and in a group setting.   I am a mature individual seeking a long term, part, or fulltime position.

I am a very fun loving and active nanny.  I believe that children, especially babies, are learning and absorbing things all the time.  I enjoy fostering this learning and natural curiosity by stimulating them with fun and educational activities.   I also enjoy taking them on walks, setting up play dates, taking them to any classes that you might have them signed up in, and other age appropriate outings.

I am pet friendly, have experience with expressed milk and cloth diapers.   When the time comes I also have experience with potty-training.   I believe in little to no television, I make sure that all schedules are followed, I encourage verbal skills by talking and reading to the children, and I try to get out of the house once a day.

I generally charge $12/hr for one, $14/hr for 2, and $15 for 3, but I am willing to negotiate to fit your budget.    My rate includes light housekeeping, generally centered on the children.

I have a resume, references, and many more details to give.  Please contact me at pwhobear@gmail.com, atyour earliest convenience.

 Thank you,

Wendy

Loving, one-on-one care in Vancouver

February 09, 2012

Frontroomdaycare1Hello and welcome to Misty's Little Ones Daycare. My name is Misty McCleary, owner/teacher at Misty's Little Ones Daycare. I strongly believe in children being in a safe, home environment during the younger years of their life while they are away from their primary caregivers. I offer just that: While parents are at work, school or out running errands, I offer a safe place with lots of love, learning and individual attention for your child. If you have multiple children, great I welcome them!

In my home, I have created a nurturing and loving environment where children are encouraged to explore, share their interests and to have their needs met. My goal in this environment, is to have it feel like home to the child, so they can feel comfortable and welcomed.

Thaliaonbikefeb2012

While I strive hard to learn about each child's comfort level, I also want to learn about their development and interests to keep them interested and engaged as well as comfortable and curious. I think it also helps the child to boost their confidence of having their needs met when the caregiver understands what those needs are.

I believe in respecting the child from birth as a whole and cuing into their needs right away. This will include using sign language from a very young age, always talking respectful to the child and parents, letting children know what's next and letting children do things for themselves.

Parent communication is essential to building a relationship and to help us better understand your child's needs. I encourage drop-ins, parent participation and ideas you may have. Please feel free to talk to me about any concerns or questions you might have anytime.

We also do a little bit of urban farming. We raise 5 chickens & do a bit of gardening in the Spring!

Nanny Available during holidays

November 16, 2011

Hi Mamas,

I am a nanny with experience with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (and some though less experience with school aged kids.) I am CPR trained, college educated and have several great references. I have cared for as many as four kids at once.

I have some availability during the Thanksgiving break plus December and January.

As of right now, I am available the following dates:

11/22, 11/23, 11/26, 11/30,  and the 21st and 28th if you are interested in a share part of the day.

12/1, 12/2, 12/6,  12/9, 12/10, 12/13, 12/16, 12/17, 12/20, 12/23, 12/27, 12/29,

1/3, 1/6, 1/10, 1/13, 1/14, 1/27, 1/28

I am also available most Mondays but am accompanied by a sweet 2.5 yr old girl from 9-12.

I charge $13/hr for one or two kids and request a 4 hr minimum. I also do overnights and date nights all year long. I am also willing to be available short notice (subject to my schedule) if your child is sick and can't attend school or daycare or if your full time nanny calls in sick etc.

I do NOT have a car at this time so I prefer families who live close in and/or on a bus line. I live near Lloyd Center. I do like to get out and about on various adventures  with the kids and I have memberships to OMSI, the zoo and World Forestry Center. I am not one to stay home all day, but having said that I am fairly creative and can get into a good art project.

If you need coverage for any of above listed times, or just need occasional date night help, don't hesitate to contact me at greatportlandnanny at hotmail dot com.

Thanks!

Learning for growth, one adventure at a time.

November 10, 2011

Little Adventurers Day Home is just what the name says. A new adventure everyday right here in our home. Sure we take excursions now and then to reinforce what has been learned in the day home, but there's nothing like watching the little ones put into action all those nuggets of wisdom you share with them! See for yourself!

Exploration

I am a stay-at-home mom who has learned a thing or two about the little people, those wonderful gifts that are our children. I have two openings left (1 full-time, 1 part-time). We are open Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm. Drop-off care is available for those last minute errands, medical appointments, job interviews, or if you just need a couple hours to yourself.

We play, we read, we paint, color, glue, and stick, we swing and slide, we sing and play instruments, we jump around and play dress-up and doctor, and yes, we take naps, too! All of this is done with the structure of learning something, be it how to share, how to be polite, how to show respect, what colors, letters, and shapes are, and more!

Call me at (503) 775-6577 if you or someone you know is looking for childcare that is affordable and does not adhere to the philosophy of "you get what you pay for." I work with all of my parents to ensure their children are well taken care of in their absence. I'd be happy to talk with you if you are interested.

November 08, 2011

My name is Tyler and I am currently a junior at American University. I am originally from NE Portland, OR. I will be home December 21st for my winter break till I go abroad at the end of January! I'm looking to set up a babysitting connection for when I return home for my summer vacation.

I have been babysitting since I was in the 8th grade.  Over the years I have babysat numerous ages. Anywhere from 6 weeks to a 12 year old.  I have consistently nannied every summer since my junior year in high school. On a typical day, I would like to walk the kids to the park, play outside, set up the sprinkler, prepare meals, and read to them.

This year, I have been volunteering at a local non-profit, The Children's Art Studio, that offers a variety of after school art programs to children of all ages.

I love sports, art, playing games, dancing, being outside (especially in the summer!), reading, watching movies and just about anything else.

Infant/Toddler nanny seeking new family in inner pdx

November 05, 2011

I am a mature individual seeking a long term part or fulltime position.

I am pet friend, have experience with expressed milk and cloth diapers.   When the time comes I also have experience with potty-training.   I believe in little to no television, I make sure that all schedules are followed, I encourage verbal skills by talking and reading to the children, and I try to get out of the house once a day.

I generally charge $10-$12/hr for one, $12-$14/hr for 2, and $13-$15 for 3.   My rate includes light housekeeping, generally centered on the children.

I have a resume, references, and many more details to give.  Please contact me at pwhobear@gmail.com, atyour earliest convenience.

Thank you,

Wendy

Accepting Children 3 years old and Up!!!

The Art Cubby is a creative drop in child care center that focuses on introducing children to the wonderful world of creative artistic expression.

You Should Hire Our Nanny!!!

October 04, 2011

Do you need a fantastic nanny to fill any gaps?  Might you be looking for great care for your child for a few months while you wait for your son or daughter to get into daycare? Or maybe you only need a few days/hours a week?  Our fantastic nanny will be looking for a new family to help starting at the end of October, when our baby heads off to daycare.  Ideally, an interim type of position would suit her best because she is looking to move in the coming year.

She is the sweetest, warmest, most competent nanny you could find.  She has years of childcare experience (has worked in childcare centers and for families), is CPR certified, and is quite possibly the world’s tidiest person!  She is completely dependable, easy going, open and honest.  We have been thrilled to have her on board, and she has made the transition back to work so much easier for me.  Our little guy’s face lights up as soon as she walks into the room!  I can’t recommender her highly enough and she will definitely be missed!!!

If you have any questions, feel free to comment here and I will get back to you.  Or email or call her directly at: lilu_jade22@yahoo.com or (503)453-6658

Educator with morning availability!

September 26, 2011

Experienced childcare provider looking for a part-time morning position. I have multiple years of experience (total of 10 years childcare experience) working with children ages 0-8. Great families for you to contact that can attest to my ability to be on-time and engaging with children of any age.

I'm cpr/first aid certified, have taken the RRCAN class, am in the process of completing my food handlers certification, and am enrolled in Oregon Criminal History Registry # (for working in a childcare center). Previously background checked through DHS for 3 years, open to having background check run. Non-smoker, valid license/insurance and reliable vehicle for transportation (5 seat car, 2 car seats or boosters and room for one older child).

Engaging and active; I do multiple activities with children from sensory play (shaving cream, paint, play dough, etc.) to arts and crafts with older children. Familiar with assisting in school-aged learning, assisting with writing/reading, spelling, abc's, 123's, colors, shapes, etc. Primary focus working with children ages 0-6.

I can and will take your children on outings if you would like, am able to assist with errand running/shopping if necessary as well as light household chores (dishes unloaded or loaded, light sweeping, child laundry/room cleanup, etc.). I love going to the park even if it's wet, and love to puddle jump!

Available Mon-Fri from 9am to no later than 2pm. I currently work from 3:30 for another family with a 14 month old girl, and 8 year old boy, and need time to get to their home each day.

If you're interested, please feel free to email me with all pertinent information such as: your care needs (frequency, total hours, daily schedule if varied), a bit about your family/children and what you are expecting to pay.

My hourly rate for locations within 15 miles of my home is $10.50 per hour, for 1-2 children. I do ask that my families commit to a minimum of hours (weekly/monthly), as childcare is a full-time position for me and it is unusual to find childcare that fits the gaps in-between.

For inquiry/interest please email educatoralicia@gmail.com and I will respond promptly.

Thanks!

Nanny available Monday - Thursday, 1/2 days - Flexible

September 15, 2011

I am the mother of a 1 1/2 year old, and our wonderful nanny will now be available Monday-Thursday, all morning until 11:30am.

She is continuing to work as our nanny Part Time, but is available for the first part of the day, Monday-Thursday.

She has been our nanny for over 1 year, and she is wonderful. Our daughter loves and adores her, and the nanny loves her even more. She really connects with our child, interacts, and is just a natural. My husband and I worked from home for awhile and we got to see our daughter with our nanny. Needless to say we were more than happy with how she took care of our daughter. We get comments from our neighbors who see her at the park, walking in the neighborhood, etc. about how great she is with our daughter.

We live in the South Waterfront community near downtown Portland. Our nanny travels by bus & max train, so she is looking for someone else in the South Waterfront area or very close (downtown, South Waterfront).

She also does housekeeping while our daughter sleeps (dishes, laundry, sweeps floor).

Please email me with any questions, I'm doing the legwork for our great nanny, as she speaks english, but not 100%.

Fun & Artistic Daytime Nanny Available!

September 10, 2011

 Hi!

My name is Shannon and I have been working as a nanny and sitter in Portland for the past two years. Prior to this I have several years of sitting experience in Florida as well. Most of my experience has been with 1-3 year olds (toddlers are my favorite age group!), but I also have a lot of experience with infants as young as 3 months and children as old as 6. I have taken care of two to four children, as well as one-on-one care, and have worked in a childcare center.

I am currently looking for jobs that will begin soon and will continue to fit into my school schedule when classes start in a month. I will be available Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00AM until around 4:30PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00AM until around 1:00PM, and all day on Fridays.

I am very active and love going on trips to the park, indoor playgrounds, the library, the children's museum, children's music events, music together classes, art classes, and other activities. I have even participated in both baby and toddler swim lessons, children's yoga, and baby sign language classes - all here in Portland. I am a believer in children being actively engaged and stimulated, encouraging learning, discovery, and creativity. I love playing music, doing art projects, reading books, dancing around, and facilitating children's imagination.

I am pet-friendly, eco-friendly, have experience preparing vegan/vegetarian & organic meals, have experience with pumped milk, cloth-diaper experienced, potty-training experienced, little to no television, reading-heavy, active and get outside even on rainy days capable, and much much more!

I have been CPR certified, but do need to renew sometime in the near future. I also have a very reliable car, which I have always used to transport my toddlers, and I am very punctual. $10-$12/hr is generally what I have been paid for caring for one child, and $12-$15/hr caring for two, but I am completely willing to work around your budget. I am also more than willing to do light cooking and cleaning and laundry and have experience with all of these things at several of my previous jobs.

As for some more personal information, I am getting my BFA in Art Practices with focuses in printmaking and photography from PSU this year. I have my own photography business photographing maternity, children, weddings, portraiture, etc. as well. I enjoy music, making it and seeing it, creating art and videos, exploring nature, and being with friends. I moved to Portland two years ago from Florida and I absolutely love it here!

I have a resume and several great references that I would love to email you if you are interested, including the many families I worked with in both Florida and Portland. If you are satisfied with my qualifications I would love to interview as soon as possible, by phone or in person, and see if I would be a good fit for your family, and then have you contact my references.  You can email me at shannon@bearstringhead.com if you would like to set up an interview. Thank you for your time and consideration!

                                Best,
                                Shannon

A GREAT NANNY AND A TINY COMPANION FOR YOUR BABY! (SE – FT/PT)

August 24, 2011

Get two for one!  After eight great years as a professional nanny, I had my own little love-bug in April.  Now that it’s time to get back to work, I am looking for a lucky little one to spend fun structured days with my daughter and me.

No need to scramble to get out of the house, we will come to you and your child will get to eat and sleep in the comfort of his or her home.  (I will set up a pack and play for my daughter to nap in and will bring our meals with us each day.)  When the kids are not eating or sleeping, we will be enjoying all that Portland has to offer.  Activities of the day might include playtime at home, story time at home and/or the library, walks to local parks and playgrounds, and trips to the Children’s Museum, OMSI, the zoo, and the community centers!

A couple of years ago I went back to school for a Masters in teaching with an emphasis in early childhood education.  I have a passion for working with kids and absolutely love what I do.  I always need the children in my care to be safe, healthy and happy – and it shows!

If you think your child would enjoy spending time with us when he or she can’t be with you, please contact me at adavendonis<at>yahoo.com.  (Use @ sign when emailing.)  I would like to work the same days and hours week to week so that I can set up a routine for the kids, but am flexible with which days and hours those are (excluding nights and weekends – those we spend with my husband!)   Most important is finding a family that my daughter and I feel comfortable around and mesh well with.

Creative and loving childcare!

August 23, 2011

Hello!

I am 25 year old college graduate and freelance photographer/musican/artist/jewelry/ maker who loves children! Most of my childcare experience comes from working for friends and family and in my hometown Mankato, Minnesota and photographing children of all ages at a local Portrait studio in Portland.  My area of work allows me to have a very open schedule with a few photo gigs on the weekends. I am very flexable and am open to working anywhere from five to forty hours per week! I love to teach children about expression through art, reading, free play, music, dance, and even goofing-off! I am reliable, always on time, and enjoy cleaning, cooking, and enjoy engaging with children. I've held various positions that relate to childcare in one way or another, including; eco friendly house cleaning, planning and leading activities at an assisted living home, as a sales associate at a toy store, and cooking in a non-profit kitchen. My rate is $10/hr with $2 for each additional child,  and references are available upon request. I currently live in NE Portland and prefer to work in Portland. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I am looking forward to hearing from you and your family!

Sincerely,

Patti Miller

Special Needs Child Care Available

August 11, 2011

Did you know your child cannot be excluded from care because of his or her disability? Do you feel your child is being treated unfairly? Is your child receiving the same love, care, attention, and opportunities as other children?
At Playworks we believe that inclusion contributes to acceptance, improved socialization, and understanding of individual differences. Supporting families of special needs children and the child himself, is a priority. Working with your child to strengthen speech, language, social development, motor skills, social development, reading, and numbers is a fun and interactive experience; not
stressful.
Children learn through active participation in their environment. Providing hands-on experiences to promote active thinking and reasoning for little-ones. Providing activities that are developmentally appropriate to support and challenge a child’s interests and needs. It’s important that Playworks strives to bridge the gap between the child’s home, school, and child care program by continuously researching and training in what’s new in the field of child development.
Playworks offers a clean, safe, smoke-free, loving home environment for children ages 6 weeks to school-age. We are located in the Beaverton/Tigard area. Transportation to and from school for select schools is also provided. Please email playworkschildcare@yahoo.com for more information.

Nanny with Excellent References Available!

August 01, 2011

Dear Potential Employer(s),

Thanks for taking the time to read this post, first of all. Let me start with a bit about my self; I am a 23 year old female looking to eventually return to college for an Early Childhood Education degree. I am passionate about children and bringing love and laughter to their lives. I am a non-smoker, have a valid license, clean driving record and background as well as excellent, up-to-date insurance on my reliable neon.

I currently live in Clackamas and am available to provide transportation as well as to travel to work (though I would love to keep my daily miles under 50!).

I'm looking for a family, or families who are in need of childcare. My rates are reasonable and reflect my strong philosophies on talking it out with children (with some 'quiet time' on a sofa/chair if absolutely necessary) and play-based learning. I value every interaction with children as an opportunity not only to teach, but also to learn.

My hours of availability are open wide to whatever my families need; I am currently not enrolled in school and hope to save up for it and attend within the next 3 years. I have excellent references, am recertifying in cpr/first aid (infancy through adult) on Saturday the 6th of August, and will also have both recognizing child abuse/neglect certification as well as a food handler's card at that time.

I've worked with children since I was very young, and am quite comfortable around all ages. Most of my specific skills are geared more towards infancy to pre-school ages, but I am adaptable and can just as easily entertain school-aged children.

I would love a long-term position if possible, but am open to short-term positions or even one-time date nights. My rates are very reasonable for date nights, by the way! ;)

If you're interested please feel free to email me at aballard23@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Alicia

Part time Fall Nanny Position

July 14, 2011

We have a two year old son who will be welcoming a sibling come January, so we will only need a nanny from late August through December and possibly a couple weeks into January 2012.  We live in SE Portland, right off of Hawthorne.  The days and times that we need covered are approximately Mondays 8-5:30, Wednesdays 8-4:30 and Tuesdays and Thursdays, you'll be picking him up from his preschool a couple blocks away, so it will only be from about 12:30-4:30.  He naps for a couple hours a day, so especially those Tuesdays/Thursdays will be light days.

We are looking for someone who has experience with toddlers, loves the outdoors and can share that love with him, is nurturing and kind, and can do some light cooking and cleaning for our son.  We also have a sweet dog, and we'd love for you to get him out of the house as well when you take our son out.

Pay is dependent on experience.  Please get in touch with us at sulzera@oes.edu.

Thanks,
Ann
