My name is Ashley. I am 26 years old and recently graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in Texas back in December. I am looking for a full-time position, at least 35 hours a week, or even occasional babysitting- I am available anytime! While I was in school, I was a nanny for three children (ages 2-5) and was an occasional babysitter for a 4 & 10 year old. I have excellent references that I can provide for you and I have been babysitting on and off since I was 14. I love kids! I'm really big into reading (I absolutely love Fancy Nancy, Harry Potter and Eloise!), making music, dancing,  eating healthy snacks, science experiments, going to parks, arts and crafts, adventure, imagination, silliness and sidewalk chalk. I like to create games and scavenger hunts. I am open to doing cleaning and meal preparation, and any other household chores that need to be done. Our Waldorf-inspired preschool is searching for a part-time assistant/lead teacher for the summer (6/4-8/22).  We are a small in-home school, offering half and full day care.  The position includes working three days a week as an assistant with 12 children, and alone as a lead teacher in the afternoon with 5-6 children.

The Job:

In the morning you will be busy leading table activities and assisting the lead teacher in:  monitoring/documenting play, facilitating problem solving meetings with children, helping guide children through transitions and joining in the fun!

In the afternoon you will work alone with 5-6 children, (One of the Co-Directors will be available to help, if needed).  The afternoon program includes nap, outside play, snack, inside free play clean up and focused activities. The position also includes half an hour of cleaning at the end of the day

We are looking for someone who can commit to this schedule and is available to work the entire summer.

My daughter, Mary has attended Chrysalis Home School in NE Portland for the last three years.  It was nothing short of a magical experience.   We knew as soon as we walked in that it was the right fit for our daughter and our family.  We've recently moved to California and are hard pressed to find a school that measures up.  The teachers at Chrysalis are exceptional.  I can honestly say that my daughter was safe, respected, listened to, and welcomed into an warm and loving enviroment at Chrysalis.  There, through structured play and activities she was able to learn and develop at her own pace.  She made wonderful friends and loved going to school every day.  I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a great preschool where their child can be themselves and you can rest assured that they are in just the right place.  There are a few openings in the Fall of 2013 at Chrysalis, if you have a child looking for a great school please check it out.
