I am a 32 year old college-educated writer, artist and nanny with 4+ years of childcare experience. I am seeking a full or part-time position with a family beginning in mid-June. I am CPR/first aid certified for infants, children, and adults. I practice positive discipline and use some principles of attachment parenting. I have experience with kids from 3 months to 8 years old. I enjoy spending time outdoors as much as possible, going to the park, the library, and OMSI as well as rainy day art projects. Need a babysitter in May and June and possibly beyond

I'm looking for someone to provide very part-time childcare for a totally-brand-new baby in May and early June (though the time period could expand if I end up getting a job this summer). As I need the baby-free time for doing homework, the caregiver would be responsible just for holding and entertaining the baby in my apartment (or taking it for a walk in the neighborhood) while I'm there. Because I'll be close at hand, I don't need the caregiver to be an expert, experienced baby whisperer (though that's always nice) - just a nice person with patience and a sense of humor.

I'm very flexible about the logistics - I'm open to babysitting swapping, nannyshares, babysitting, whatever works! My main point of inflexibility is that I have no car, so you'd have to get yourself here (Sellwood). I think I'll need about 4-8 hours of care a week, preferably on weekdays, but the specific timeslots are flexible.

Seeking nanny share / childcare for Fridays, SE Pdx

My great Friday morning nanny has a new job & won't be able to watch my baby anymore after December.  So, I'm looking for something new.  I'm wondering if this might be a good time to start a nanny share or a small childcare setting as my boy is going to be one at the end of November and no longer needs quite as much undivided attention as a little baby does.  Our current nanny has a little girl who is a year older than my baby and they enjoy each others company.  For a nanny share I think somewhere between 8 mo & 2 years would be ideal.  I hope to find something in the SE or possibly southern part of NE further out (close to 82nd).  Our current nanny lives in Montavilla and that works well for us.  Woodstalk or somewhere between the two would be good as well.  Hours needed are about 8:45 - 1:15 (depending on drive distance from our home) on Fridays.  A little flexibilty would be nice as I occasionally have a different work schedule, but it isn't necessary.

FT Nanny Needed in NE PDX

We are looking for a full-time (M-F 8-5) with some flexibility, long term (at least 1 year) nanny to take our kiddos on fun adventures around Portland and smother them with love.  We have a 3.5 yr old boy and an 18 mo old girl. I work from home and travel about once a month so there may be some longer days when I am out of town.  However, we will know well in advance when those days are. Shortly after my daughter was born we found that we were in need of some great babysitters.  I knew that many agencies in town sent sitters out, but wanted a chance to meet the sitters myself- and even see them interact with my child- before I hired one.  I am so pleased that I am now able to actually do this!  Rose City Nannies has started hosting Sitter Socials- where a group of pre-screened sitters meet and interact with parents (and their children).  The events usually last about one hour, and are hosted in various locations around town, all child friendly.  The best part- you go home with a Sitter Album- with all the babysitters info including resume, cover letter and availability.  This is a great service!  The next event is in June.  Check it out!

My husband and I are looking for a full-time nanny to provide in-home care for our daughters in the Sunnyside neighborhood in SE Portland

During the summer months, you will have both girls during the day. Starting in the fall, you will be mostly with the younger one, as the older starts her school.

Seeking PT Nanny in MT Tabor/ SE PDX

We are looking for someone to care for our 11 month old son in our home 2 days a week from 10:00-2:00ish while I work.  We can be flexible on what days, but it needs to be during the week, not weekend days.  We also have a 4-year old daughter who is in pre-school 3 full days a week so if your days of availability fall on the days she is home, then she will need care as well.

We would like someone who understands and respects attachment parenting and it would be a bonus if they are familiar with the Waldorf philosophy of education (which is the style our daughter is familiar with).  We would like someone that is able to play with our children on the floor and can carry around a baby that is 25 lbs.  We also need someone who can prepare nutritious lunches and snacks.  We try to be as media free as possible in our home, so TV watching is not part of our children's day.

Childcare or Nanny referrals?

Greetings - I am looking for part time childcare (approx 8-10 hrs a week)

Monday - Thursday

3:30pm -5:30pm

Monday - Thursday:

*pick up 1.5 year old boy at childcare that ends at 3:30pm and bring 10 blocks to NE Portland home for care until 5:30pm.  Must have car, we provide car seat.  Can walk and use our stroller / bike on sunny days.

Fridays would be a plus (mother works from home) :

*odd hours needed as caregiver is available anywhere from 2 - 4 hours needed in NE Portland home.

We're looking for a very part time nanny who can care for our 2.5 year old son 2 days a week. Here is what we are searching for... starting in September:

We need care in our home Wednesdays and Thursdays 6:45 AM. Nanny would be responsible for getting him ready (light breakfast, changing clothes, playing, readingetc.) and driving him from SE 50th Woodstock
to SW 45th Taylors Ferry to his preschool which starts at 8:30 AM. You would be done by 8:30.

This is an unusual schedule, we would pay $30 for the 2 hours. This could work out great for a student or a SAHM who wants some extra $ and be finished by 8:30 ! :)

However, if you are interested, we would further be interested in having our child picked up at 3PM at school and then brought back to our house until 5PM We would pay $15/hr. for 4 hours of care.

ISO NE Care for 6-yr old and infant siblings

We live in NE Portland and are the proud parents of 6 yr-old and 3-week old daughters.  I am currently on maternity leave and head back to work FT at the end of May which is prompting a new child care search.  Luckily, I am going back to 4-day weeks, but we will need FT care for our infant four days a week as well as after-school care for our soon-to-be 1st grader.

My priority is for our girls' to be together as much as possible; but I'm having difficulty finding infant AND after-school care in the same place.  Does anyone have recommendations??
