Experienced, warm and adventurous Nanny seeking long-term family

March 25, 2017

Hello Parents and Families!

I am an experienced, warm, adventurous and conscientious nanny and mother seeking a family for an extended mutual commitment. Interested in a single-child household of infant/toddler/preschool age on Portland's west side or near surrounding suburbs. Flexibility on scheduling, but ideally seeking 20-36 hours per week, within a 2-4 day period, during Monday-Friday.

I have worked as a childcare provider for the last 22 years with the last 8 as a private caregiver and in classroom settings. I am enthusiastic and well informed about early child hood development. I greatly enjoy working with families to create consistent, safe and enriching environments where children thrive. I am passionate and energized about engaging with neighborhood assets like parks programming, play spaces, natural areas and libraries during our weekly routines.  I love creating games, crafts and other activities to keep little minds busy during inclement weather. I even own a big colorful parachute!

I authentically communicate with children, speaking to them with confidence and respect while creating clear boundaries in a safe and loving way. I treat each individual as their own special and unique self, to foster trust and cultivate emotional life skills through consistency and emotional acknowledgment.

My husband and I welcomed our sweet, smart little girl in August of 2013 and she joins me on my workday; it has been a joyful and rewarding experience for our family as well as the families we care for. We are looking to work with a family who is excited about the co-developmental benefits of a built-in buddy and the ability to socialize their child in a small and caring environment. We have our own transportation, an extra car seat and a carrier hiking pack for our next adventure pal!

I would love to share more about my childcare philosophies, our extensive work history and the positive life-long relationships we have formed through our nanny relationships. I look forward to learning more about your family and what you are looking for in a caregiver!

Seeking family for FT nanny share in inner SE Portland

March 13, 2017

Hello families! We are looking for a family to join or create a full time spring and summer nanny share in inner SE Portland to care for our three month-old son. Beginning in April 2017, we are seeking 35-40 hours per week of care during standard workday hours, (likely) Monday through Thursday, with the possibility of adjusting the schedule for the right family or nanny.

Part Time After School Nanny Needed

March 11, 2017

We are looking for some after school care for our 5 year old daughter. This is a super part time gig, with potential opportunity for increased hours over the summer, and date nights.

For now, we are looking for a nanny to pick up our daughter from preschool at 3:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, until about 5pm. Wednesdays may be a little shorter, as I'm often home by 4:30 pm.

This is probably an ideal position for someone who lives in the Sellwood neighborhood, or nearby. This could work for someone who doesn't drive. Bus line 70 is near her school, and there are plenty of activities in the neighborhood to walk around and explore (library, coffee shop, park, etc.). Our house is about a 20 minute walk from her school. If you do have a reliable car, we can provide you with a high-back booster.

Please e-mail (kimbd@pdx.edu) with your resume, 2-3 references, expected pay range, and availability to meet for an informal interview. Our daughter is an outgoing, energetic, funny & bright kiddo. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi UrbanMamas!

I started an on-call nanny agency a few months ago, Portland Nanny. We specialize in emergency, back-up and intermittent childcare needs. I started this company because I am a stay at home mom who needed quality care irregularly and had trouble finding QUALITY care exactly when I needed it. So, I started Portland Nanny.

Child home sick from school? Regular childcare fell through? Need a date night sitter? That is where we can help! We do it all. I essentially have 3-5 nannies on call at all times.

ALL of our nannies are EXCEPTIONAL. I would trust them all with my children, and do! They are thoroughly background checked, infant and child CPR trained, have years of experience in childcare (with references to back up that they were exceptional!), and are seriously just awesome.

Let us help you when life happens! Everyone deserves quality childcare, no matter how last minute or how infrequently you need it!

SAHM hoping to watch 1-2 babies in cozy/kid friendly home!

February 08, 2017

Hi Everyone!

My name is Alaina, I am a 29 year old Portland native, looking to help out a couple families in need. I have posted on here before, and I think this time I have finally figured out what will work best, and am very excited about the future as a nanny and mom! I have a 5 month old named Leo, he is such a happy sweet little guy, and being his mom has been my favorite job yet! With that said, its time for me to get back to work after these 5 months of quality time and add a couple more babies into the mix! My ideal situation is to watch one to two babies in my home.

ABOUT ME.

I have been working with children for the past ten years, from being a full time nanny, preschool teacher, and teacher assistant in the Beaverton School District. Even though all my jobs have been working with children, each job has proved different from the last. I have learned so much in each position, with the different types of teaching styles, parenting styles, ages, sibling behavior, and children with special needs, my passion for being a teacher/caregiver only grows stronger. I have 10+ years experience with multiples, every single full time nanny job I have had in the past has been with 2+ children at a time, when I worked in the daycare it was a 4-1 ratio, of ages 3mon-1 year. I love to stay active with the children I care for, from going to the zoo, children museum, nature walks, cooking parties, library, and silly dance times throughout day, I am always trying to stay energetic and engaged. I am hands on, and interactive, but also respect the Montessori teachings and think its important children know how to play and use their imaginations on their own at times also.  A little glimpse into my day as a nanny watching your child would be something like this.

MORNING: Warm welcome! Breakfast (if needed) followed by floor time (i.e..tummy time, crawling, sitting up, sharing toys, and books) I have a johnny jump up, bumbo, walkers, and play mats to keep us active. This will be a time to interact with one another, sing songs (a record player with lots of fun music, Harry Belafonte seems to be one of Leo's favorite to bounce along to!) nursery rhymes, read books, scream and yell, chat, and play with lots of energy. Working on fine motor skills, and getting lots of one on one attention.

SNACK/BOTTLE TIME/quiet story with lullabies.

NAP TIME

AFTERNOON: Daily walks to the library or to the park (5 minute walk). Being outside is very important to me, fresh air makes everyone happier! Followed by more play time, books, music, and art projects (once they are of age) to get creative with some paints and crayons!
I don't follow any schedule EXTREMELY closely, but I like to incorporate some structure, with those main activities during the day. Of course on sunny days we can picnic outside, play longer on the grass, and dance outside instead of inside! My main focus is on the children, and making sure they feel safe, loved and cared for throughout the day.
(Of course as the children get older, activities and daily routines would change to fit age and interests)

As of right now we are currently in a one bedroom. (Plans of a two bedroom are within a couple months, same location just waiting on one to open up) so in the very near future there will be more room for everyone. In the meantime I don't see our current living quarters as space issue. We have Leo's area of toys, books, changing table, rugs to play on, and a rocking chair. We have a crib and can easily set up a couple Pack N plays for nap time in the bedroom. I am located in Raleigh Hills area, just down the road from Raleigh park and the Library. Lots of great neighborhood to walk around in, and a nice big from lawn for run around play time.

I know leaving your kid during the day is extremely hard, that is why as a mom and a nanny I want to make you feel as comfortable as possible with knowing your child is in good care. We can stay in touch throughout the day by texting, and I will certainly keep track of your child's day with notes of eating, sleeping, activities, and other fun things that were don't throughout the day. With dropping your child off with me during the day you can be assured they will get one on one attention, other interaction with kids of close to the same age, and lots of play time! I think this is a fun, unique setting for a child to not feel overwhelmed in a daycare setting, but also have other kids their age to interact with and grow close with. I am not claiming to be an in-home daycare, I am a new mom who loved being a nanny and is hoping to get the opportunity to combine my two loves and create my dream job.

My rate would be $9hr per child.

I am open and willing to work with different schedules and times during the day. I hope to at the least have 25hrs a week per kid, and no more then 35hr (but again, open for discussion) Also open to nanny share.

Location is SW Portland, Raleigh Hills. Near the Fred Meyer and New Seasons off Beaverton Hillsdale.

I have a list of great references that would love to talk to you, I am CPR certified, and am willing to send my resume.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Creative, caring nanny looking for Full/Part time Position!

January 02, 2017

Hello and Happy New Year!

My name is Alaina, I am a 29 year old Portland native looking for my next family to Nanny for! My ideal position would be three 10-12 hour days, doesn't matter what days of the week, if the days switch off each week, or if they are consecutive week days off together. I am just hoping to find something around 30-35 hours per week, also open to a nanny share situation. I am a new mom to a 4 month old boy, named Leo. I absolutely love being a mom, he's such a sweet little guy and has been nothing but a joy in our life. My mother has graciously offered to watch Leo 2 days a week, but I would love to be able to bring him one day a week to work. This can be discussed in greater detail of course. I know this may not sound ideal to some families, but I can assure you it would have no negative effect on me being a nanny to your family. I would give equal attention to each child, and I love the thought of my son growing up with other children, and forming lasting friendships. I started my last nanny job in January 2016, which I was with full time until September when I went on maternity leave. The plan was to return to work at the start of January 2017 and bring Leo with me, but things changed with the families work schedule and they can no longer guarantee a set amount of hours anymore, since the mom will be home more often, so here I am!
I live in SW Portland in the Raleigh Hills area, so keeping it within a 20-30 min drive at most would be helpful (especially with this growing Portland traffic!)
A little about me, my work history, and teaching style.

I have grown up in the Portland metro area my whole life, I love Oregon and all if has to offer. Like most Oregonians, I love the lifestyle we are able to have by living here, beautiful day hikes, weekend trips to the Oregon Coast, camping, and trying a new awesome restaurant each weekend. Eating locally and as healthy as possible is very important for me. Which is why staying active, and eating fresh is definitely incorporated as much as possible when I am watching children. I like to have the kids help me cook, get them involved and show them what its like to eat from the garden, daily walks, and exploring all nature has to offer. Rain or shine, I need to go outside everyday! I very much believe a child's imagination is the most important thing to exercise and discover, and no better place to do that then the great outdoors. I grew up in a large family, with my parents, two older sisters, and a younger brother. I now have 4 nieces, and the family keeps growing. I feel very lucky to have them all live close by so Leo can grow up surrounded by his grandparents and cousins.

Being a Nanny has always been my favorite job of them all. The bond and relationships you form are extremely rewarding and irreplaceable. I have nannied children ranging from 4MO-14years old. As a parent I can only imagine how hard it is to leave your children everyday for work, that’s why as a nanny I make sure the children know they are loved and cared for everyday, I am there for any questions and concerns they have, and am there to teach them and help them grow. I love to stay positive and active. From working in school environments in the past I have taken to implementing some things into my nanny life. Making sure each day has time for reading, crafts, down time, dance/play, and outdoor learning/activities. I know every family is different, some are more structured and scheduled, others may not follow a schedule, with that said I am open to whatever makes the family feel most at ease and comfortable.

As I search for the next family to work with, I am hoping to find something long-term, at least a year+ commitment would be ideal. I want to treat my next job as much as a career as possible, 1 week paid vacation/holiday pay, and a guaranteed amount of hours each pay period. I have a weekly sheet I fill out for the families, which includes activities done throughout the day, food intake, potty/nap schedule, miles driven, expenses used, and hours for the day. It really helps the parents and I keep track in an organized way and it’s seemed to work out really well.

I can imagine trying to find the right Nanny for your family to be a very hard process. I don't blame the family for wanting to maybe have a lengthy hiring process, or wanting to do a trial run to see if you are a right fit before hiring, and to me that makes so much sense. You can't be too sure when you know this person is going to be watching your children. So with that said, I am available for contact through e-mail or phone. If you're interested I can send my resume, which gives in greater detail my childcare experience, I also have great references that are more then willing to chat with you, and we can chat on the phone before meeting to see if we would be a good fit for each other!

I have a 2002 Subaru Outback, which is a very safe and reliable car. I have had my license since I was 16, with an amazing driving record. I recently renewed my First Aid/CPR training and am enrolled in the Criminal Background Check. I am comfortable with pets, and don't mind walking the dog. I am comfortable with meal prep, light housekeeping, and running errands. I don't smoke.

In my last few positions I was getting paid $16 hourly for two children. I am willing to go down to $15 for one child. If its a Nanny share situation I would charge $9 an hour per family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I am a very caring, reliable, patient, and open minded person, I look at being a Nanny as a career, and not just a job to have until I find something better. I am very excited to find the next family to work with. Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you!

SE Nanny Share looking for nanny!!

December 12, 2016

Two Portland families looking to share an attentive, loving, active nanny in SE for two baby boys, one is 6 months and the other 10 months old. The right fit would be someone who is dependable, communicates easily, and enjoys being outdoors. We are looking for someone with infant experience who will follow the children's lead, listen to their individual needs, read to them, and encourage exploration. Infant/child CPR and first aid is a must.

Both mothers are teachers; one has a typical full summer break and the other has many breaks throughout the year. This will mean holidays off. Both families are young, active, love trying new things in Portland (food), and spend their free time exploring the great Northwest! Both homes are between SE 50th/Woodstock and SE 83rd/Rhone (2.2 miles from each other), and have parks and a library within walking distance to both.

We would pay a flat rate ($2,000-$2,400 DOE) every month and can provide a schedule at the beginning of each month. Care is typically needed 7:30-4:30pm Monday - Thursday, and will never exceed 36 hours and 4 days/week. There will be times when care will be needed for only one child, and sometimes when no care is needed (salary expectations will still be met, regardless if weekly hours are met).

Looking to begin interviewing 12/21 for a start date of 1/3/17

Please contact Kelly at kellyfitzsimons85@gmail.com.

Looking for Nanny Share in SE Portland

December 03, 2016

Hello, we are looking for another family to share a nanny (..and, also looking for a nanny!) for 2-3 days per week, starting in January. Our daughter will be 5 months old and we are in the SE neighborhood near Mt Tabor. We are flexible on which days of the week we could do, but we're looking for hours ~8am-5pm. Open to a variety of different situations and are also available to host. Please contact Kat at klperez at gmail dot com. Thank you!

Portland Nanny Looking for FT (Nanny share/my home/your home)

December 01, 2016

Hello! My name is Alaina and I am 28-year-old Portland native, who's hoping to find a 30-35 hour a week nanny position starting in January. I am available M-F, and open to many options! Nanny share, my home, your home, switching off throughout the week. Whatever is easiest for the family can be discussed.

I am a new mom to a soon to be 12 week little boy named Leo. He is the sweetest, most even tempered, curious, happy baby and I feel very lucky to be his mom. I started my last nanny job in January 2016, which I was with full time until September when I went on maternity leave. The plan was to return to work at the start of January 2017 and bring Leo with me, but things changed with the families work schedule and they can no longer guarantee a set amount of hours anymore, since the mom will be home more often.  I am going to miss them, they were a great family and we all got along really well. With that said, I am looking forward to my next nanny adventure!

I have a couple options I am open to, and would be equally thrilled to be apart of.

The first being a nanny share with 2 babies at someone's house. Since I would be bringing Leo with me, I think it would be awesome to have other babies close to his age or even up to 1 year old. I've had friends in this scenario and they loved it and said it worked or great! Plus, Leo doesn't have many friends yet and I'm almost certain he would love some. :)

The second being dropping off 1-2 babies with me. I live in SW Portland, although my place is very cute and perfect for my little family of 3 at the moment, it would sadly be too small to entertain multiple babies, so my parents has graciously offered their home to me. My parents live in Tigard, in the Morning Hill neighborhood. Very close to Summer Lake Park, and the new Progress Ridge developments. They have 5 grandchildren who love visiting because of their warm environment and lots of toys! There would be a designated play-room with cribs, age appropriate toys, and anything else needed for the babies. A clean kitchen for eating and snack time, and an awesome backyard with a new large deck for endless outdoor activities!

For both of these scenarios I would charge $9.00 per child and would need to be guaranteed no less then 27-28 hours per week and not exceeding 35-38 hours. If only one child, pay would need to be increased but for the sake of each family and payment costs, I am really hoping for two children to cut costs for everyone!

Seeking family to join our (Spanish speaking) nanny share in SE Portland

October 25, 2016

Hello!

We have a wonderful nanny who is caring for our 7-month old son three days a week at our home in SE Portland (Woodstock neighborhood). We are looking for another baby to join us, ideally between 4 and 10 months old but may consider other ages also. We are open to hosting at our house as well as alternating homes depending on location. We are already pretty well equipped for nanny share as far as gear goes (double stroller, extra crib and nap space, good proximity to parks and activities, etc). The schedule is currently M-W, but we may be able to flex that some, and we may also consider expanding beyond the 3 days/week. Our son is a happy, easygoing, and active fellow, and we are excited for him to have a playmate! Our nanny speaks primarily in Spanish and is very active throughout the day, going out for walks regularly and engaging in interactive, educational play.

If this sounds like a good fit for your family please email me at kimmis@gmail.com. Thanks!

October 24, 2016

Hello! We're looking for a caring, dependable, education/play-oriented part-time nanny for roughly 25 hours a week. Our two children are 7 and 4, and love arts and crafts, music, books, and being outside.

The schedule is M/W/F after school, and all day Tues/Thurs. The location for care switches weekly between our 2 houses, dad's in South Tabor and mom's in Woodstock. Some very light housekeeping would be helpful--mainly just cleaning up after craft time, etc., and some meal prep (really just snacks and lunches).

We'd love to know a little bit about you, your child care philosophy and methods, and how you see yourself a great fit for joining our family. Compensation is negotiable, but hoping to land around local average pay. Please email Brian at bk@fatpause.com if interested.

Seeking PT Nanny in SE Portland

Seeking an awesome and loving person to care for an adorable baby boy while his Mama works from home ~16 hours/week.

Our baby boy is currently 2.5 months old and we are seeking someone to care for him in our SE Portland home while Mama works out of the home office (Dad works outside the home).  Mama will be home 90% of the time and will be mostly sequestered in the office in the garage, though she will continue to breastfeed baby on demand and be in and out of the house for snacks, bathroom, etc.

Our parenting style mostly aligns with attachment parenting, e.g. babywearing, breastfeeding, bedsharing, following baby’s lead, etc.  We use cloth diapers and when baby starts solids we intend to follow the baby led weaning approach.

You should have experience caring for young infants and be comfortable with cloth diapers and babywearing (we have several carriers).  You will have your own transportation to our home but we don’t expect you to transport baby in your car/bike/bus, though we could revisit this as baby gets older.  You don’t need to do any housework and you’d be welcome to snack on whatever we have in our cupboards.

We live in SE Portland near 50th and Hawthorne.  We need childcare Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, starting immediately and lasting for a year, possibly a little longer (until he starts a toddler daycare program).

If interested, please contact Ali Briggs-Ungerer at alisonbriggsungerer@gmail.com

SEEKING FAMILY TO SHARE CARE IN N/NE/SE PORTLAND

October 21, 2016

Hi! We recently hired a fantastic nanny and are looking to share care with another family; we have an almost 3 year old (November birthday) girl and a 4 month old girl (born in June). We are located in NE Portland (Rose City Park) and would be looking to share care up to 4 days a week, generally between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.

A little about us- We are working parents- my husband is in sales and I'm a policy analyst with a local non-profit- of an active, curious and happy toddler. Our 4 month old is already an easy second- mellow and goes with the flow of her older sister! We eat healthy (but are not overly organic and allow some sugar in her diet), encourage outside play, limit screen time and do maintain daily routines as much as possible. We do have a 6 year old black lab that thinks he is one of the "girls".

We are happy to share care between our homes or host the share. Our nanny is kind, very warm towards the girls, engages them in appropriate play (she brings her own bag of goodies, including books, wraps for infants etc.) and is very comfortable with our routine. She is a graduate of the NW Nannies Institute and can provide references/information upon request.

We are looking for a family that would be looking for similar hours of care (with the possibility that could use the nanny on the 5th day if need full time care), has a toddler close in age to our toddler (may consider more than 1 child) and is willing to pay between $10-12/hour for shared care, with taxe s deducted (can show you how to do that!).

If you are interested and would like to explore sharing care with us, please email Danielle at thesobes at gmail.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Seeking Nanny / Nanny Share in SE (Buckman Neighborhood)

October 20, 2016

Hello!

We are seeking:

-- A like minded family to share a nanny with our 2-month-old (he will be 4 months old at the time of care)
-- A loving, dependable nanny for our child
-- Or alternatively, to join another family who already has a care provider in place

We are parents in our early-30s who value art, nature, music, free play, and quality family and social time! We are still working on finding a nanny. If you already have a nanny and have room for one more, we'd also be willing to join you! We plan to set up nanny care Monday-Friday, full time, beginning in December or January. We'd prefer a family close by to our house (near Buckman school), but location can also be split between houses.

If you are interested, please email me at aftonhakes@gmail.com to discuss further.

Thank you!

High Quality Nannies On-Call 24/7

Portland-nanny-logo

Full Time Nanny Available September

August 16, 2016

Tiffany has been a nanny for our family for over four years now and our youngest is now moving on to preschool and I am committed to helping this truly remarkable young woman find another family to work for.

About Tiffany:  Tiff
Tiffany is a professionally trained nanny, having graduated from NW Nannies Institute in Portland, with ten years experience with infants, toddlers, multiples, and nanny shares.  She is infant & child first aid and CPR certified.  Being a nanny is not just an after-college job, it is her profession.

She is endlessly patient and I've never once seen her frustrated or flustered.   She is full of love and connects incredibly well with children, actively playing with them, making trips to the park, and singing songs and playing games.  She is professional and responsible.

I can't recommend her highly enough.

Pay: I'm also committed to helping Tiffany find a job that pays her a living wage since this is her profession and she needs to be able to pay for her own health insurance, pay taxes, etc. Her rate per hour for a full time, 50 hour week is $22 per hour.    She is really flexible in helping families afford that.  She will care for multiple children at that rate--up to 2 infants and 4 toddlers or adding in an older child after school (all of which she has done while in our employment and I can attest to the fact that she is brilliant at it) AND, she can do what she did for our family which is work 3 days for one group of families and 2 days for another, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested in part-time OR full-time; I know she'll try to make it work.   And I will happily train you on how to withhold taxes, etc so you don't have to stress about that!

You can contact me at amandamortlock [@] gmail.com to learn more or get in touch with Tiffany.  Tiffany has a full website with reviews from families she's worked with at www.tiffanybreunig.com.

one spot left in home daycare/nanny share in foster/powell

July 12, 2016

Hello Mamas (And Papas, as the case may be),

I am writing today on behalf of our sweet little Foster-Powell nanny-share, as things are changing up a bit and we have 1 spot available coming this August! Our dear nanny Solstice lovingly cares for five children (presently 3 at a time) in her clean and creative home. Below are some words from Ms. Sol, but as a mother who's been lucky to have Solstice care for our son since he was 5 months old (he is now 15 months), I would like to share how wonderful Solstice's care is. Her approach is informal/relaxed while also very interactive, educational, and highly individualized. She listens to the needs of each family and works with parents to enhance whatever routine/lessons/needs each child has so there is continuity between home and childcare. She is very flexible (so helpful!) while maintaining the utmost integrity and dependability in schedules. She has created a wonderful space in her home, and her care feels more like a fun auntie's home than a traditional daycare. She speaks predominantly Spanish to the kids presently, but this is flexible as well! Her rates are also very competitive at $8/hour.

Presently, we are looking one child to join for 3-4 days/week. Available days are M, T,  & Fridays. Solstice is also available for date nights and weekends, so she really is such an incredible support on so many levels. Our little family, and all current families, cannot recommend her enough! We hope to meet your little one(s) soon!

Please contact: Solstice at four one five 3 77 27 one one or toujourshadow at g mail
If you are interested, Solstice can provide all current family contact info for stellar references.

A few words from Solstice:

I am so happy to be looking forward to meeting new friends as I say goodbye to my little buddies who are soon graduating from my care. I offer a casual nanny share situation in my home and its dynamic is stellar. It both encompasses the advantages of a private nanny for your child while at the same time also reaping the benefits of peer play without the distractions of an overwhelmingly large group. The nanny share context is also very budget-friendly. I have been providing child care for over a decade now and my experiences range from private nanny to large summer camps, from nanny share to au pair, from my mom's daycare helper to home tutor and many more contexts in between. I care for children of all ages and I am available all week days minus Wednesday and not after 5:30.

My home has a fenced back yard with patio deck and myself, my partner and 2 kitties are its only residents. I currently provide Spanish immersion to the children whose parents wish me to do so. Child care is my true vocation and my fulfillment comes from making my little friends happy everyday. I have a personal approach of seeing each child as unique but all children grow from smiles so my daily duty is to have fun! I deeply believe having fun is vital to a child's positive growth. I keep fluid daily schedules that include open play, storytime, yoga, school time, choir practice, dance party, creative workshop, outside tumbling, promenades, baking class, and more. I believe this small group dynamic of intimate care with friendship and play from other children allows them to thrive and flourish with each other and with me too! I consider my approach an immersion of Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia styles. My rate for full time families is 8$ an hour per child. References may be given upon meeting.

A little more about myself...I am from San Francisco! I'm a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in liberal arts. I am a devout yoga student and also teach kids yoga at my studio. I am an avid world traveler and yet its strange that my warmest comfort comes from being home :) I welcome any background checks and I get CPR certified annually, and of course, I am a non-smoker. I am fluent in Spanish and conversational French. There is no television in my home and the only entertainment apparatus we use is my record player for dance and music time. I have an excellent education and many other work experiences such as tutoring English as a second language and crisis counseling, but it's the little ones that make me smile each day when I go to work. I put the same high expectations on myself that I expect other families to put on me. Each child is unique and I am attentive to differences when they arise. It is a strength of mine to be creative when confronting a problem. Sometimes children get restless or frustrated with sharing, or have difficulty communicating their desires, or just don't want to eat their veggies! It's important to not execute anger or negative energy to solve these situations. Love, patience, and innovation will help children much faster and more positively then any frown or holler I believe. I actually grew up in a daycare and my mother was the owner. I am eternally grateful to her. Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting some of you and your little one(s)!

Amanda

Looking For Family To Share Amazing Nanny In Overlook/N/NE Pdx

June 28, 2016

Hi!  We have an incredible bilingual nanny, Kelly, who we would like to share with one or 2 other families (max 2 more little ones).  She has been with our 22 month old daughter since she was only 8 weeks old and is very trustworthy, speaks only in Spanish to her, and fills every day with fun activities.  Kelly also seems to have magical powers when it comes to getting little ones down for their naps.

We would ideally like to find one or 2 more little ones around the same age as our girl and families who wouldn't mind dropping their littles off at our house in Overlook.  The days/hours we use Kelly currently are M, Tu 9:15-6:30, W 9:15-5:30, F 9:15-6:30 and we're open to sharing a portion of that or all of those hours if it happens to work with your schedule.  For the shared hours each family pays $13 per hour and if you need Kelly for any alone hours it's $15.

Email me, andreaneal99@yahoo.com, or call, 714-883-5792, if you think this could be a good fit or have any questions.

Thanks,

Andrea

Nanny Available Part Time

February 26, 2016

I’m currently working Mondays and Wednesdays with a great family and I’m hoping to find another fantastic family (or families) to work with Tue/Thu/Fri or some combination of those days, Tu/Th would be best. I live close to Kennedy School so my ideal situation would be to find a family who doesn’t live too far away; though I do have a car, I don’t want a really long commute.

I’ve worked in the field of childcare for 20 years, 5 years of that time as a nanny. In addition to working in day cares and preschools, I’ve worked in after school programs; an art based summer camp, and was the art teacher for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders at a Montessori school.

A few things past employers have said about me are:

– “She's able to quickly come up with fresh ideas to keep children interested in projects and adapt to each child's developmental skill level, while challenging their limits and imagination.”

– “She is a calm and steady presence around the house, as well as a natural with kids. Both my kids hit it off with her right away, and they are always happy to see her when she arrives.”

– “She comes up with games that are perfect for their ages, and has a real knack for getting them to have fun playing together.”

– “Has a wonderfully calm and quiet, yet powerful presence that children naturally follow.”

I’m still in touch with several families I’ve worked for in the past. When you’re a nanny you develop a relationship with the whole family, not just the child(ren). I'm CPR & first aid certified. I’m a non-smoker and am comfortable around pets.

Please email me at nepdxnanny@yahoo.com and I can send you my resume and references. I look forward to hearing from you.
