Familiar with assisting in school-aged learning, assisting with writing/reading, spelling, abc's, 123's, colors, shapes, etc. Primary focus working with children ages 0-6.

I can and will take your children on outings if you would like, am able to assist with errand running/shopping if necessary as well as light household chores (dishes unloaded or loaded, light sweeping, child laundry/room cleanup, etc.). I love going to the park even if it's wet, and love to puddle jump! For outings I do ask you provide the payment for admission fees, etc.

The group I care for, and learn alongside with, are inquisitive, active and creative toddlers. Lotus Heart Preschool is a play based, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia inspired program.  We provide natural materials in a rich, nurturing environment.  Children have opportunities to work with a multitude of art materials, compose and act out stories, learn basic Spanish and Sign Language, explore light, shadow, and shape at the light table, have imaginative and dramatic play time, work in the garden, bake, and play at the park.  We sing, rhyme, share, do creative movement/yoga, and play cooperative games at our daily circle time.  We provide a daily tea time with organic snacks, children bring a lunch from home.  Our teacher, Brynn Anderson, has 16 years teaching experience in a variety of preschool settings. 

Our program runs from 9-1 Monday-Friday for preschool age children 3 -5 years old. My name is Bethany, and I am the owner of Lullaby Days, a state certified family childcare, tucked back in a quiet neighborhood near Allen and 170th.

The goal of Lullaby Days is to have a place where children feel safe and loved, a place where relationships among children, parents and teachers are nurtured in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

I believe children are capable human beings who deserve to be listened to, and that when we listen and really hear what the child wants to learn, it will amaze us, because it so often surpasses any preconceived notions about what we think the child needs to learn.

Looking for a Nanny Share Family and Nanny

I am looking for a nanny share situation for my wonderful 2 yo old and 5 yo boys. I am re-entering the work force after 3 1/2 years of staying at home with my 2 children. My oldest boy will be attending kindergarten in SW Portland so the nanny/family would have to be OK with a commute to pick-up/drop-off depending on the schedule. I have extensive experience in childcare for ages infant -12 years of age. I was the oldest of four, at the age of 10 my oldest brother was born, and then my two other siblings to follow over the next years. I was most defiantly mother’s helper! Thereafter, I was the assistant nursery director for St. Cecilia’s Church for four years. Building a program from only the occasional 7 children and parent volunteers attending, to then two years later building a program that reached max capacity every Sunday with 200+ children attending and twenty five consistent parent volunteers, and three summer programs. In college, I have been a part time nanny for many families in our neighborhood, and through our church, and family friends. Over the last two years I have worked for a family in the Portland area watching their two little ones that are now 4 and 6 years old. I also, studied child psychology in college as well. I have many references upon request.

 

 I absolutely love my job! I enjoy doing arts and crafts, play dates, and enjoying nature. I am not a big TV fan. I am very big on using extra educational resources for children; they love it and I love the way there minds are so eager to explore!  I am consistent, hard working, and timely, I like to keep things clean and organized as well, while implementing these lessons on a daily basis with your children as they grow. Open communication is key to me as well within the home between the parents and myself.
