Wee Fun Camps and Play Groups

I am a certified teacher turned SAHM.  I have two girls, almost two and almost four. My love of teaching and desire to do things that include my own children has led me to start Wee Fun camps and play groups.

Last months Spring Break camp was a blast.  We had so much fun that we have decide to have one every month in addition to our weekly "play, laugh and learn" mini sessions.

Every mom and dad needs a break or a chance to just clean, run errands, work... need I say more.  If you have not joined us for a mini sessions or camp now is your chance to let your kids and yourself have a break and see what Wee Fun is all about.
 

Join Miya Kai and Elsa for one or more fun-filled mornings.  Your children will enjoy circle time, singing and dancing, hands-on science experiments, real world math, reading and creative writing, messy art, cooking, nature exploration, gardening, creative play, games and more.  No parent participation required!

When:  Monday, April 20th - Thursday April 23rd *
Who:  Children ages 3-10 years (call for children under 3)
Camp time: 9:00 am to 12:30 pm

Cost:  $12 per session.
          Sibling Discount
          Discount given to campers who attend all camp sessions.


All campers need to bring a sack lunch*,  morning snack will be provided.

*Thursday April 23th - space limited - this session is our weekly session.

Seeking Childcare for infant, Beaverton, October 2009

I am due to have a baby at the end of June. I will be taking 4 months of leave and returning to work full-time in mid to late October 2009. I want to make sure I have child care set up LONG before that time because it is so diffcult to find good care for an infant. I don't like daycare centers for infants, but I am also not particularly comfortable with an in-home provider without reliable and strong references. Any suggestions of in-home providers in the Beaverton area? Hillsboro is an option too - we're right on the line of the two cities. I'm also open to a SAHM with a child 2 or younger who is interested in having a playmate for her child while also making some additional income for her family. Things that are important to me: high quality care, low ratio, natural/organic food (once eating solids), loving, learning environment, and no to minimal TV. Any and all suggestions welcome!! School year child care for toddler, Beaverton or NW Portland

I'm a teacher and looking for childcare that fits with my schedule i.e. 9 months of the year and till about 3 or 3:30pm in the afternoon. This will be for an 18 month old boy. I'm looking for either a nanny to care for him at our home or an eco-friendly/organic preschool that has a 9 month program and takes kids as young as 18 months. Location in Beaverton or NW Portland.

I'm thinking a nanny who has school aged kids and wants summers and late afternoons off to be home with their own kids would be a good fit for us.

Play-based with a child-centered approach!  We are currently participating in a program through Neighborhood House's Child Care Community Fund Program which is providing us with super parent support and staff enhancement.  This can be seen in our program in a number of ways including scholarships for parents and staff incentives for increasing their core knowledge in Early Childhood Education (currently the majority of our staff already have their Bachelors Degrees).

Creative Children's Center in Beaverton

I just wanted to share some information about Creative Children's Center in Beaverton.  My son has been going there since he turned 2 and we love the school.  CCC is Oregon's largest parent-child cooperative preschool and Kindergarten.  They actually have programs from 14 months to 6 years of age.  I love being a part of my son's school experience and my husband actually parent helps once a month, so he gets to have his own special time with my son at school.  It's been fantastic seeing my son become an independent child.  He loves school and wants to go everyday!

They're holding an open house on Saturday, January 17th & Saturday, February 21st from 9:30am to 12:30pm.  There also visitation days available during the week on January 21, January 27, February 4, and February 10th.  Visitation hours are from 9:30 to 11:30am.

Toddler Play Group in SW Portland

We are moving to SW at the end of the month and are currently part of a new toddler play group in NE that is still in its forming stages. We are realizing that this will be a drive for us so I wanted to find out if there was interested in the SW/Beaverton area of town. The group would be for toddlers aged 18-24 months give or take a few months. The group would ideally be supervised by a play group teacher and would consist of a lot of free play, with some story-reading, singing, outdoor play, art, music and other semi-structured activities.

The group will:

• include only 4 children
• be 4 hours long
• be held twice a week (although once a week participation is ok if it's your preference),
  cost $5/hour/child.
• The groups are hosted by 2 of the families who are participating, and parents do not attend the group

SAHM looking to add another child

In am a SAHM looking to stay home with my two daughters a while longer. I have a 4 year old that will be attending preschool at our church and I have a 2.5 year old daughter. I am looking to help another parent out and watch their child in my home. I love to go to the park, zoo and omsi. I was a infant/toddler teacher for 7 years, worked for head start and for Portland public schools. I am just not ready to go back to work yet, but will have to if I dont find a solution.

I live in the beaverton area and am not looking for a houseful just enough to be able to stay home. I believe smaller groups are better for care. Non smoking/no pets home
