trade a room in multnomah village for childcare

I am looking for the right person to watch my daughter during my call shifts in trade for rent. I am a student at OHSU studying nurse midwifery. The call shifts are 12hrs and 24 hrs alternating every other week. The schedule is variable. My daughter has full time day care 7am- 6pm, so it is not necessary to watch her during the daytime hrs on the weekdays, only during evenings or mornings after/before daycare hrs, and weekend call. It would involve picking my daughter up from school by 6pm, giving her dinner, and hanging out with her until it is bedtime (24 hr days). On the 12 hr days you would giver her dinner, and play for a bit, as I will be home in a few hrs. I also am on call for a home birth midwife at this time fri-sunday, and would like someone that is open to occasionally watching her during these times. We can arrange this around a social life!!! as I do have other backup. She is rather easy, and 3 yrs old. She entertains herself very well, but would really love you to play with her, draw, puzzles, etc. I am fine with TV if you would like as long as you can multitask and play a little too! And no scary or violent shows. We live in multnomah village, in a cute bungalow style house. The room has a closet and has nice light. We live very close to the village.

Need a babysitter in May and June and possibly beyond

I'm looking for someone to provide very part-time childcare for a totally-brand-new baby in May and early June (though the time period could expand if I end up getting a job this summer). As I need the baby-free time for doing homework, the caregiver would be responsible just for holding and entertaining the baby in my apartment (or taking it for a walk in the neighborhood) while I'm there. Because I'll be close at hand, I don't need the caregiver to be an expert, experienced baby whisperer (though that's always nice) - just a nice person with patience and a sense of humor.

I'm very flexible about the logistics - I'm open to babysitting swapping, nannyshares, babysitting, whatever works! My main point of inflexibility is that I have no car, so you'd have to get yourself here (Sellwood). I think I'll need about 4-8 hours of care a week, preferably on weekdays, but the specific timeslots are flexible.

Babysitter/Nanny Available in Portland

Anyone in Portland looking for either a regular babysitter or a nanny? I'm a 21-year-old girl who finished her degree at PSU in December. I'm pursuing an internship that would begin in May and am looking to make ends meet between now and then.

I have 11 years of experience as a childcare provider and have had many different arrangements with parents and their children. I have been a "mother's helper," a once-in-a-while date night babysitter, a four-day-a-week overnight nanny for a nurse, and a "mom for the weekend" for parents who hadn't had more than a night away since their second was born. I really enjoy being around little ones and am comfortable with children from infant to teen age.

For personal transportation, I ride my bicycle, which is an Xtracycle. I ride safely and defensively, don't ignore traffic laws and can haul 2 children. If you're more comfortable, I can drive your car; I have a clean driving record. I'm also very comfortable getting around with TriMet. 

I grew up in a breastfeeding and cloth-diapering household and so I am comfortable with both. I have experience cooking organic, vegetarian, vegan, raw vegan, gluten-free and local foods. Looking for a sitter for 9 days in August

Hello! I'm going back to work next month after primarily being a SAHM for 7 years. Our family needs a babysitter for the following Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in August-12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th & 28th. The hours will probably be between 8AM-4PM.

Teen looking to babysit -- N Portland

My stepdaughter is available to babysit for for "date nights" or weekend days (daytime in the summer).  She has a couple families she sits for now, but would like to find a few more. She is 15, attends MLC and is Red Cross certified. She commutes to the home by bus, but would need a ride back if she is needed late into the night. NoPo babysitter?

We're lucky to have a sitter but sometimes she's busy. We're looking for a babysitter who can drive and is OK with "late" nights (like finishing at 11pm-ish and sometimes on weeknights) and doesn't charge a lot. i am a mama of an almost one year old boy. i've watching children for more than half of my life. i have experience with all ages. my son is being raised on an organic vegetarian diet,...mostly wooden toys, cloth diapers, co-sleeping, no tv, etc etc....looking for a family with similar interests who may need childcare once in a while or on a regular basis. i'd prefer a family in SE. i am free Mondays and Fridays, and various other times throughout the week. i'd be happy to come to your house to watch your little one(s).

I need an occasional babysitter

We have an 18-month-old daughter and sadly, our awesome sitter has taken an evening food service job. Looking for a good sitter to watch our child occassionally (weekend evenings, etc). It's a good gig as she usually goes to sleep around 7 pm so often, the sitter just watches TV the whole time. We normally pay 7 an hour and live near Providence Portland. NE Mom available for childcare

Hi!  Are you looking for a babysitter?  Before school?  After school?  During the day?  I may be able to help.  I am the mom of 2 boys (ages 3 and 5), and I would love to help you figure out your childcare dilemmas.  Right now my oldest son is in school 8:30-3 (except Mon and Wed, when he stays until 4:30 for science club).  My younger son goes to his playgroup Mon and Fri from 9-1.  I would obviously have my children with me when they are not at school, but they are very friendly, outgoing kids who are always looking for a new playmate.  We spend a ton of time walking around the NE (to and from school, on "nature walks," going to Alberta Park, etc.), and we usually spend about 30 mins at the school playground when I pick up my 5 year old.  The boys are also fond of arts/crafts and puzzles.  I would prefer to babysit in my home (smoke-free/pet-free), but I am flexible if you live in the NE (I do have to pick up my son from school everyday, and would not like to be way out in Clackamas or something like that).  I am also available on the weekends.  If this sounds like a good match for you, please email me at katematlock@hotmail.com.  Thanks!

When was the last time you went on a date???

My stepdaughter is available to babysit for for "date nights" or weekend days.  She has a couple families she sits for now, but would like to find a few more.  She is 14, almost 15, attends MLC and is Red Cross certified.  She is comfortable traveling to the home by bus, but would need a ride back if she is needed late into the night.  We live in North Portland (Overlook neighborhood,near Addias campus/New Seasons).  She is most comfortable with children who are potty trained, but has sat for those as young as 6 mos (her half brother).  Since we're connecting via the internet, we'll ask that we meet you first to make sure it's a safe situation for her and the fit is a good one.  She has been making $5-6 an hour.

Need Occasional Babysitter in NE

I'm looking for recommendations for a babysitter to help us out on sporadic weekend and weekday evenings. My husband and I have begun a work-and-school schedule that will occasionally require us to rely on a babysitter for our 3-year-old, particularly on weekday evenings, usually about 5-9 PM. We'd like to find somebody relatively cheap, and are willing to try out anything from 12-year-olds to grandmas to a mom with a young kid of her own. The sitter would have to supervise the kid's dinner and get her semi-ready for bed, but we would expect no food preparation and really nothing beyond the demands of being reasonably nice to her, tolerating her 90 billion questions, and keeping her safe. Seeking SE Home-Daycare for 2yo ASAP

My wonderful day care situation is coming to an end just shy of my daughter's second birthday. I am seeking day care in the provider's home in SE Portland, near the Woodstock area, near Brentwood-Darlington. I would love to have my daughter with other children, and would prefer a provider who has their own child at home with them. My daughter is a good natured, funny little girl with typical 2 year old traits. She is vegetarian, so I would need someone who would respect this choice. Also would prefer a home where tv is not part of the daily routine, or if it is, no more than 30 minutes a day. I am a single mom and I am looking for affordable rates. I am also looking for a place that is a home away from home for my daughter, and she is treated like family.

Another plus would be a drop-in option for my current day care provider's 14 month old, but that would be mostly icing on the cake, since he and my daughter have become like siblings in the past year.
