Part Time After School Nanny Needed

March 11, 2017

We are looking for some after school care for our 5 year old daughter. This is a super part time gig, with potential opportunity for increased hours over the summer, and date nights.

For now, we are looking for a nanny to pick up our daughter from preschool at 3:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, until about 5pm. Wednesdays may be a little shorter, as I'm often home by 4:30 pm.

This is probably an ideal position for someone who lives in the Sellwood neighborhood, or nearby. This could work for someone who doesn't drive. Bus line 70 is near her school, and there are plenty of activities in the neighborhood to walk around and explore (library, coffee shop, park, etc.). Our house is about a 20 minute walk from her school. If you do have a reliable car, we can provide you with a high-back booster.

Please e-mail (kimbd@pdx.edu) with your resume, 2-3 references, expected pay range, and availability to meet for an informal interview. Our daughter is an outgoing, energetic, funny & bright kiddo. We look forward to hearing from you!

Step by Step CDC is now Enrolling!

Step by Step is Enrolling NOW!

We are now taking enrolling for FT and PT children.

Step by Step has been caring for children for over 30 years. We recently opened a second location on NE 29th and Dekum and we are enrolling children now!  It is a wonderful space, with great natural lighting and a spacious backyard! We keep with a 3:1 ratio which is great for babies, toddlers and preschool age children. We do cloth diapers to help with early potty training and we also serve 3 meals a day for your children! The philosophy we follow at Step by Step is one of allowing the children to explore and learn from their surroundings, in a loving and relaxed atmosphere. First and foremost, we strive to nurture a child's spirit, a strong and health self-esteem is the foundation for future learning. We believe in mutual respect and love with the children.

Flexible Nannies; on Demand and Highly Vetted!

Hi UrbanMamas!

I started an on-call nanny agency a few months ago, Portland Nanny. We specialize in emergency, back-up and intermittent childcare needs. I started this company because I am a stay at home mom who needed quality care irregularly and had trouble finding QUALITY care exactly when I needed it. So, I started Portland Nanny.

Child home sick from school? Regular childcare fell through? Need a date night sitter? That is where we can help! We do it all. I essentially have 3-5 nannies on call at all times.

ALL of our nannies are EXCEPTIONAL. I would trust them all with my children, and do! They are thoroughly background checked, infant and child CPR trained, have years of experience in childcare (with references to back up that they were exceptional!), and are seriously just awesome.

Let us help you when life happens! Everyone deserves quality childcare, no matter how last minute or how infrequently you need it!

Seeking nanny or nanny share for 6 month old

January 07, 2017

Hi there,

we are looking for a nanny or nanny share beginning mid-February for our daughter Artemis, who is going to be 6 months old by then. We live in NW Portland and we are open to many options. Ideally, we are looking for a family with a full time nanny that they would like to add an infant to a few days a week, or a nanny with some flexibility. We would like to start with 3 days a week and then switch to full time. We are pretty flexible location wise as it is not more than 20 min drive, alternatively we could host at our place.

Looking fwd to hearing from you.

Best,

Christina

Pls contact us @ e-mail: chatzi@ohsu.edu or phone: 858-337-3506

Creative, caring nanny looking for Full/Part time Position!

January 02, 2017

Hello and Happy New Year!

My name is Alaina, I am a 29 year old Portland native looking for my next family to Nanny for! My ideal position would be three 10-12 hour days, doesn't matter what days of the week, if the days switch off each week, or if they are consecutive week days off together. I am just hoping to find something around 30-35 hours per week, also open to a nanny share situation. I am a new mom to a 4 month old boy, named Leo. I absolutely love being a mom, he's such a sweet little guy and has been nothing but a joy in our life. My mother has graciously offered to watch Leo 2 days a week, but I would love to be able to bring him one day a week to work. This can be discussed in greater detail of course. I know this may not sound ideal to some families, but I can assure you it would have no negative effect on me being a nanny to your family. I would give equal attention to each child, and I love the thought of my son growing up with other children, and forming lasting friendships. I started my last nanny job in January 2016, which I was with full time until September when I went on maternity leave. The plan was to return to work at the start of January 2017 and bring Leo with me, but things changed with the families work schedule and they can no longer guarantee a set amount of hours anymore, since the mom will be home more often, so here I am!
I live in SW Portland in the Raleigh Hills area, so keeping it within a 20-30 min drive at most would be helpful (especially with this growing Portland traffic!)
A little about me, my work history, and teaching style.

I have grown up in the Portland metro area my whole life, I love Oregon and all if has to offer. Like most Oregonians, I love the lifestyle we are able to have by living here, beautiful day hikes, weekend trips to the Oregon Coast, camping, and trying a new awesome restaurant each weekend. Eating locally and as healthy as possible is very important for me. Which is why staying active, and eating fresh is definitely incorporated as much as possible when I am watching children. I like to have the kids help me cook, get them involved and show them what its like to eat from the garden, daily walks, and exploring all nature has to offer. Rain or shine, I need to go outside everyday! I very much believe a child's imagination is the most important thing to exercise and discover, and no better place to do that then the great outdoors. I grew up in a large family, with my parents, two older sisters, and a younger brother. I now have 4 nieces, and the family keeps growing. I feel very lucky to have them all live close by so Leo can grow up surrounded by his grandparents and cousins.

I have been working with children for the past ten years, from being a full time nanny, preschool teacher, and teacher assistant in the Beaverton School District. Even though all my jobs have been working with children, each job has proved different from the last. I have learned so much in each position, with the different types of teaching styles, parenting styles, ages, sibling behavior, and children with special needs, my passion for being a teacher/caregiver only grows stronger.

Being a Nanny has always been my favorite job of them all. The bond and relationships you form are extremely rewarding and irreplaceable. I have nannied children ranging from 4MO-14years old. As a parent I can only imagine how hard it is to leave your children everyday for work, that’s why as a nanny I make sure the children know they are loved and cared for everyday, I am there for any questions and concerns they have, and am there to teach them and help them grow. I love to stay positive and active. From working in school environments in the past I have taken to implementing some things into my nanny life. Making sure each day has time for reading, crafts, down time, dance/play, and outdoor learning/activities. I know every family is different, some are more structured and scheduled, others may not follow a schedule, with that said I am open to whatever makes the family feel most at ease and comfortable.

As I search for the next family to work with, I am hoping to find something long-term, at least a year+ commitment would be ideal. I want to treat my next job as much as a career as possible, 1 week paid vacation/holiday pay, and a guaranteed amount of hours each pay period. I have a weekly sheet I fill out for the families, which includes activities done throughout the day, food intake, potty/nap schedule, miles driven, expenses used, and hours for the day. It really helps the parents and I keep track in an organized way and it’s seemed to work out really well.

I can imagine trying to find the right Nanny for your family to be a very hard process. I don't blame the family for wanting to maybe have a lengthy hiring process, or wanting to do a trial run to see if you are a right fit before hiring, and to me that makes so much sense. You can't be too sure when you know this person is going to be watching your children. So with that said, I am available for contact through e-mail or phone. If you're interested I can send my resume, which gives in greater detail my childcare experience, I also have great references that are more then willing to chat with you, and we can chat on the phone before meeting to see if we would be a good fit for each other!

I have a 2002 Subaru Outback, which is a very safe and reliable car. I have had my license since I was 16, with an amazing driving record. I recently renewed my First Aid/CPR training and am enrolled in the Criminal Background Check. I am comfortable with pets, and don't mind walking the dog. I am comfortable with meal prep, light housekeeping, and running errands. I don't smoke.

In my last few positions I was getting paid $16 hourly for two children. I am willing to go down to $15 for one child. If its a Nanny share situation I would charge $9 an hour per family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I am a very caring, reliable, patient, and open minded person, I look at being a Nanny as a career, and not just a job to have until I find something better. I am very excited to find the next family to work with. Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you!

Portland Nanny Looking for FT (Nanny share/my home/your home)

December 01, 2016

Hello! My name is Alaina and I am 28-year-old Portland native, who's hoping to find a 30-35 hour a week nanny position starting in January. I am available M-F, and open to many options! Nanny share, my home, your home, switching off throughout the week. Whatever is easiest for the family can be discussed.

I am a new mom to a soon to be 12 week little boy named Leo. He is the sweetest, most even tempered, curious, happy baby and I feel very lucky to be his mom. I started my last nanny job in January 2016, which I was with full time until September when I went on maternity leave. The plan was to return to work at the start of January 2017 and bring Leo with me, but things changed with the families work schedule and they can no longer guarantee a set amount of hours anymore, since the mom will be home more often.  I am going to miss them, they were a great family and we all got along really well. With that said, I am looking forward to my next nanny adventure!

I have a couple options I am open to, and would be equally thrilled to be apart of.

The first being a nanny share with 2 babies at someone's house. Since I would be bringing Leo with me, I think it would be awesome to have other babies close to his age or even up to 1 year old. I've had friends in this scenario and they loved it and said it worked or great! Plus, Leo doesn't have many friends yet and I'm almost certain he would love some. :)

The second being dropping off 1-2 babies with me. I live in SW Portland, although my place is very cute and perfect for my little family of 3 at the moment, it would sadly be too small to entertain multiple babies, so my parents has graciously offered their home to me. My parents live in Tigard, in the Morning Hill neighborhood. Very close to Summer Lake Park, and the new Progress Ridge developments. They have 5 grandchildren who love visiting because of their warm environment and lots of toys! There would be a designated play-room with cribs, age appropriate toys, and anything else needed for the babies. A clean kitchen for eating and snack time, and an awesome backyard with a new large deck for endless outdoor activities!

For both of these scenarios I would charge $9.00 per child and would need to be guaranteed no less then 27-28 hours per week and not exceeding 35-38 hours. If only one child, pay would need to be increased but for the sake of each family and payment costs, I am really hoping for two children to cut costs for everyone!

A little about me, my work history, and teaching style.

I have grown up in the Portland metro area my whole life, I love Oregon and all if has to offer. Seeking Nanny / Nanny Share in SE (Buckman Neighborhood)

October 20, 2016

Hello!

We are seeking:

-- A like minded family to share a nanny with our 2-month-old (he will be 4 months old at the time of care)
-- A loving, dependable nanny for our child
-- Or alternatively, to join another family who already has a care provider in place

We are parents in our early-30s who value art, nature, music, free play, and quality family and social time! We are still working on finding a nanny. If you already have a nanny and have room for one more, we'd also be willing to join you! We plan to set up nanny care Monday-Friday, full time, beginning in December or January. We'd prefer a family close by to our house (near Buckman school), but location can also be split between houses.

If you are interested, please email me at aftonhakes@gmail.com to discuss further.

Thank you!

Mama, Nanny and Artist to Care For Your Child

August 22, 2016

Screen shot 2016-08-22 at 8.49.24 PM

Hi Portland Families! I'm a mother, nanny and artist, available to care for your child. I have a beautiful, clean, safe home in SE Portland, (Woodstock) that features a lovely yard to play in and an art studio. I practice Gentle, AP parenting with my own 2 year old, I am cloth diaper and nursing friendly and have CPR/first aid certification. I am open to a child age 1 to 4 years. I only care for your child and my own. I'm more of a nanny share than a daycare. If you are looking for someone mature, responsible, gentle, creative and fun, to care for your child, then feel free to contact me at dianacomstock@gmail.com.

Experienced nanny available for babysitting and date nights!

August 16, 2016

Hello families!
I am a 32 year old seasoned childcare provider with 14 years of full time experience. I am currently interested in expanding my availability for occasional sitting and "as needed" pickup work, especially in the evenings though I can accommodate mornings as my current schedule allows. I am flexible and open to anything ranging from the very occasional sitting gig to regularly scheduled date nights. I am happy to offer a sliding scale of $14-17/HR for 1 child, $18-22/HR for 2, and $23-25/HR for 3.
I have experience caring for all ages of children, with varying needs and abilities, from newborn/infancy to adolescence. I am currently caring for 3 older kiddos after school a few days a week, who I have been with for the last 3 years, and the nanny share I was running with 2 young babies over the last year recently ended due to changes in their parents' schedules. (I also have a non-childcare related part time day job that I started a couple weeks ago.) I have infant CPR and basic first aid training, and I have never had any major emergency occur in my time as a nanny.
I live in NE Portland and would prefer to stay on the east side, with priority given to NE/NOPO and close-in SE. I am flexible with travel, but prefer to commute less than 20 min from Alberta if possible. I have my own reliable vehicle and prefer to come to you.
I am especially excited to work with GLBTQ families and/or anyone who is open minded and appreciative of the amazing diversity we have here in Portland.
I have a list of excellent references that I am happy to share via email. Please feel free to get in touch if interested! Leahkitkogan@gmail.com

Looking forward to working with you!

one spot left in home daycare/nanny share in foster/powell

July 12, 2016

Hello Mamas (And Papas, as the case may be),

I am writing today on behalf of our sweet little Foster-Powell nanny-share, as things are changing up a bit and we have 1 spot available coming this August! Our dear nanny Solstice lovingly cares for five children (presently 3 at a time) in her clean and creative home. Below are some words from Ms. Sol, but as a mother who's been lucky to have Solstice care for our son since he was 5 months old (he is now 15 months), I would like to share how wonderful Solstice's care is. Her approach is informal/relaxed while also very interactive, educational, and highly individualized. She listens to the needs of each family and works with parents to enhance whatever routine/lessons/needs each child has so there is continuity between home and childcare. She is very flexible (so helpful!) while maintaining the utmost integrity and dependability in schedules. She has created a wonderful space in her home, and her care feels more like a fun auntie's home than a traditional daycare. She speaks predominantly Spanish to the kids presently, but this is flexible as well! Her rates are also very competitive at $8/hour.

Presently, we are looking one child to join for 3-4 days/week. Available days are M, T,  & Fridays. Solstice is also available for date nights and weekends, so she really is such an incredible support on so many levels. Our little family, and all current families, cannot recommend her enough! We hope to meet your little one(s) soon!

Please contact: Solstice at four one five 3 77 27 one one or toujourshadow at g mail
If you are interested, Solstice can provide all current family contact info for stellar references.

A few words from Solstice:

I am so happy to be looking forward to meeting new friends as I say goodbye to my little buddies who are soon graduating from my care. I offer a casual nanny share situation in my home and its dynamic is stellar. It both encompasses the advantages of a private nanny for your child while at the same time also reaping the benefits of peer play without the distractions of an overwhelmingly large group. The nanny share context is also very budget-friendly. I have been providing child care for over a decade now and my experiences range from private nanny to large summer camps, from nanny share to au pair, from my mom's daycare helper to home tutor and many more contexts in between. I care for children of all ages and I am available all week days minus Wednesday and not after 5:30.

My home has a fenced back yard with patio deck and myself, my partner and 2 kitties are its only residents. I currently provide Spanish immersion to the children whose parents wish me to do so. Child care is my true vocation and my fulfillment comes from making my little friends happy everyday. I have a personal approach of seeing each child as unique but all children grow from smiles so my daily duty is to have fun! I deeply believe having fun is vital to a child's positive growth. I keep fluid daily schedules that include open play, storytime, yoga, school time, choir practice, dance party, creative workshop, outside tumbling, promenades, baking class, and more. I believe this small group dynamic of intimate care with friendship and play from other children allows them to thrive and flourish with each other and with me too! I consider my approach an immersion of Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia styles. My rate for full time families is 8$ an hour per child. References may be given upon meeting.

A little more about myself...I am from San Francisco! I'm a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in liberal arts. I am a devout yoga student and also teach kids yoga at my studio. I am an avid world traveler and yet its strange that my warmest comfort comes from being home :) I welcome any background checks and I get CPR certified annually, and of course, I am a non-smoker. I am fluent in Spanish and conversational French. There is no television in my home and the only entertainment apparatus we use is my record player for dance and music time. I have an excellent education and many other work experiences such as tutoring English as a second language and crisis counseling, but it's the little ones that make me smile each day when I go to work. I put the same high expectations on myself that I expect other families to put on me. Each child is unique and I am attentive to differences when they arise. It is a strength of mine to be creative when confronting a problem. Sometimes children get restless or frustrated with sharing, or have difficulty communicating their desires, or just don't want to eat their veggies! It's important to not execute anger or negative energy to solve these situations. Love, patience, and innovation will help children much faster and more positively then any frown or holler I believe. I actually grew up in a daycare and my mother was the owner. I am eternally grateful to her. Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting some of you and your little one(s)!

Seeking Part-Time Nanny For 2 Kids (newborn and 2 yrs) SW Portland. Start date October/November

June 23, 2016

Hello Urban Mamas! We are a loving family of two working parents, a 2 year old daughter and baby boy due in early August. Due to somewhat irregular upcoming work schedule changes, we are seeking part time nanny/babysitter coverage at our home for both children most likely 7 AM-6PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every other month, to begin in late October/early November. Additionally, we would likely want to commit to at least one additional day on the months in between in order to establish some schedule consistency for us both. We live in a large private home in the Hillsdale neighborhood of SW Portland, close to many parks, great walking and hiking trails and on a quiet, friendly residential street.

We are a warm family with a very friendly and loving Newfoundland dog and cat. We have a fenced in backyard, children's play room, nursery and toddler room, all stocked with plenty of toys and books. We'd be interested in having our children exposed to the outdoors, arts and crafts, reading books, listening to music, dancing and most of all doing so with a friendly, fun, caring and thoughtful nanny/babysitter.

Please contact Adam via email at abranf@gmail.com or phone at 617.447.3512 if you're interested or wish to ask any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!

Very Part Time Nanny Available - until end of May 2016

December 07, 2015

10712891_316259861879380_7571252223867451494_n

Hello! My name is Jenni, and I am in my late 20's, living in the NE Portland Woodlawn neighborhood. I am currently looking for some part-time (roughly 10-15 hrs a week) childcare work. I will be leaving Portland in June, so I can only commit until the end of May. I love love love working with children, and have been doing so since I was 13. I mainly have cared for 2-5 year olds, though I have experience with infants to tweens. My childcare approach is one that values loving presence, healthy attachment, emotional intelligence / healthy expression, and creative exploration. I love to play outside all times of the year. I enjoy cooking healthy, wholesome, organic meals. I am tidy, and always leave spaces better than I found them. My days and times are currently flexible, though I would love something consistent. I have a strong community of friends, and many of them nannies, so I could likely support the transition when the time comes by helping find my replacement (though no guarantees). I am currently training in Mindfulness / Body-Centered therapy and will be moving into a career as a counselor in the next couple years. I have found my work with children feeds that work and vice-versa. My background is also in yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, and I love finding subtle ways to bring that into children's lives. Activities I love to share are: going on adventures in nature, even if only to the park or around the block, making music or teaching songs, going to see fun shows or to museums, doing seasonal crafts with recycled & / or natural materials, reading or making up stories, dance parties, yoga / stretching, cooking projects, & more! I have a car available for use, it can fit two car seats. I am insured and have a clean record.

I love reading and learning about alternative childcare, so if there is a topic or a book you are particularly passionate about, I would likely be more than happy to read it in my spare time, and incorporate it in my work.

Please email me with your interest Jengold23@gmail.com - I would love to hear about you & your family, your values, what neighborhood you live in, & sending pictures is always helpful! Please do not email me for full-time work as I am not interested or available. Please note: I am in school one weekend (including Friday) a month, so if you need consistent care on those days, I am not able to meet that need.

FYI - my rates begin at $15 an hour, and increase by $2 for each additional child. I am happy to provide references upon request.

Thank you for reading. Be well.

Happy Valley Family Needs Awesome Nanny PT/FT

November 05, 2015

Family in Happy Valley looking for a nearly full time nanny. We are a family with two working parents and have one awesome little girl who  will be 3 in February (and is still a power napper 2.5-3 hrs per day) and are in the process to adopt an infant or toddler later this year.  Duties will include infant/toddler care, driving to local activities (zoo, OMSI, museums, library etc) as well as pick-up/drop-off at pre-school starting in March, simple meal prep, and 3 loads of laundry per week (basically one each day you are here).

Pay is negotiable depending on experience. We have also done nanny shares in the past and currently have one going one day per week which allows the nanny to make some extra income and the kids to interact with each other.  Approx 30-40 hrs per week, 7 – 4ish pm.  Depending on your availability, occasional weekend, evening and vacation support are an added bonus that come with additional pay and are preferred but not required.  To apply, please send an email to Melissa at thurmanfamily09@gmail.com with an introduction statement about yourself and your childcare practices, preferred pay for one, two and three children (to account for nanny share days).  Requirements: Experience with infants and toddlers; CPR/First Aid training; clean driving record; ability to provide references; punctuality, reliability and willingness to go with the flow are critical.   Thank you!

Seeking occassional care on Thursdays for 1 and 3 year old girls

October 08, 2015

Do you have Thursdays free and are looking for occasional childcare work?  We're looking for a babysitter for our sweet, fun, and adventurous one and three year old girls.  We live in inner NE Portland, near NE 8th and Fremont.

Ideally you would have other regular employment or be a mom looking for occasional supplemental income. If you are a parent, we wouldn't mind if you brought your kiddo over to our house to play with the girls while you care for them. Please have recent experience caring for young children. I'm hoping to keep my awesome work schedule for several years, so this could be a long term gig.

I work part-time, but occasionally I need to go into the office for a few hours (3-6 hours) on Thursdays.  The hours would fall between 8-4.  Generally, I know of my childcare needs several weeks in advance.

Looking forward to hearing from you! Jackie  eaton.jaclyn@gmail.com

Waldorf Inspired Teacher Guided Nanny Share/Adventure Group Has Wednesday Morning Openings!

September 30, 2015

Hi There!

IMG_7071

My name is Sara pronounced (Sahra) and I am a Waldorf inspired teacher with over 17 years of childcare experience with children of all ages. My time with children has taught me how to slow down, find playful moments in every activity, and to stay present, loving, and kind. I have created a sweet little spin off of my former preschool, Sweet River bamboo, that I created and taught at for 3 years in the form of a nanny share. If I were asked to describe in one word the quality of the relationships I cultivate with children, it would be... Magical. There is space available for 1-2 children in my play group on Wednesdays from 9a-1p/3:30p. This nanny share arrangement is ideal for families who want their children to socialize and explore creativity and nature weekly, and who want to gently introduce/or continue offering their child a small group of children to engage with in a warm and loving environment. This childcare group is well established and a high quality group with extremely mindful care and thoughtful parenting.

Your child will be playing with 2 year old Macy and 4 year old Seamus for the day. We are in Macy's home until 1p and then at Seamus's home after that for nap/rest time. Macy is kind and strong. She loves filling up her back packs for adventures, and playing dress up. Seamus is an energetic tender spirit who loves to build polar bear dens and play chase. Both children love to make art, cuddle, and read books. Our rhythm is filled with playtime, song circles, and craft making that celebrate the seasons and infuse our time together with rich, collaborative activities. There is a lot of silliness and laughter too! If our group size allows, we visit playgrounds and venture out to the local gardens around town. There is a lot of silliness and laughter too! Our days are media free aside from world music that  accompanies our dance jams. I would like to bring our new group together as soon as possible so we can all get to know each other and settle into our rhythm. I have excellent references to share with you so please contact me at 503-432-6414 or saralizadeh@hotmail.com to learn more about this arrangement. Above all, I truly see children as whole beings of love and light, and I deeply enjoy getting to know each and every little one who joins my path and shares their magic with me. Please check out my former preschool's facebook page, Sweet River Bamboo and extended childcare post to get a sense of the quality of care I provide children.

Thank you!

Experienced Nanny Available

September 16, 2015

My name is Kit and I am a 31 year old nanny, artist, and musician with 13 years of childcare experience. I have cared for children ages 0-13 and specialize in infant and toddler care, though I am very comfortable with all age groups, including twins and multiples, and enjoy spending time with older kiddos too! I am looking for a stable position (a contract for 1 year+ would be ideal) and am available to start immediately. I am currently available from 8am until 2:30 or 4:30pm on Tuesdays (depending on some logistical things—we can discuss further if interested) and anytime after 8am on Thursdays. On MWF I am available from 8am until approximately 2:30pm. I would prefer to work 6-8 hours per day and I am able to offer a sliding scale of $14-17/hour for one child, with my scale increasing from there for two or more. I have a safe and reliable vehicle and drive children several times a week on outings, to camps, and other activities like athletic practices, etc. Preference given to families in NE/NoPo or close-in SE.

I am especially excited to work with other GLBTQ families and/or folks who are open to the wonderful diversity of people that exists here in Portland.

A bit more about me: I am originally from the Midwest and have nannied in Minneapolis and Baltimore before moving to Portland in 2011. I was a live-in nanny for two years in my early 20s and even went on tour with a punk band as a “road nanny” a few years back. I’ve worked in both a preschool and in-home setting and have knowledge of early childhood development as well as many different child-rearing philosophies. I use this knowledge and experience to create a safe, happy, fun, and nurturing environment for growing children to learn and explore. I am also available to help with sleep training and other challenges that may come up! I also have infant CPR and first-aid training.

I am available for occasional babysitting as well—please feel free to get in touch if that is of interest!

I have an extensive resume and several excellent references that I would be happy to forward if it seems like it could be a good fit. email: leahkitkogan @ gmail dot com

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Each month on the second Monday I have a meeting from 7:30 to 10:30 I will need coverage for, the other days are much more random AND starting Nov 16 I can tailor my schedule to yours!

Here is what we need until 11/16

10/02 7:30a -- pref 5p but flexible
10/12 7:30a -- 10:30a
10/30 7:30a -- pref 5p but flexible
11/9 7:30a -- 10:30a

We have a nice baby area established in our house so we prefer you coming to us. We have a geriatric cat at home in the twilight of her life you would need to be okay to be around. Bonus points if you're interested in music since our baby loves music!

If there is availability in a previously established nanny share I would love to hear from you as well!

If you have an opening in your childcare facility, it should be in SW or on the way to Wilsonville from SW.

Our little one is active, easy and social. Seems crazy to PAY someone to hang with her, but I guess I feel that way because I am mom. :)
Best,

WEVILLAGE OPENS FOURTH FLEXIBLE CHILDCARE LOCATION IN NORTHEAST PORTLAND

Portland, Or.  WeVillage founder Karen Beninati opened her innovative, flexible childcare facility at Northeast 19th and Broadway. The beautiful, 2,000 square foot space is designed as a unique play and learning area with a custom built play structure emulating some of the surrounding homes in the neighborhood, a preschool area, and a separate area for the infants and toddlers to explore.

The Northeast Broadway location was created by Beninati and a team of experts from Andersen Construction, the company that also designed and constructed Ibarre, WeVillage’s neighbor next door.  The vision was to use materials leftover from various larger commercial projects done by Andersen Construction.  The result, 96 per cent of the materials is reclaimed from existing wood saved from the original space.  The ceiling is a reclaimed concrete shoring form.  “We used LOW VOC adhesives, the panels are reclaimed from a high-tech industry project, the doors and windows were left over from some of Andersen’s larger commercial jobs”, said Beninati.  “Our mission of providing exceptional flexible childcare spaces that are beautifully designed for discerning parents has been achieved and we’re very excited to show our concept off in our newest location,” she added.

A special grand opening celebration will be held SEPT 24TH 4-9pm BIG PARTY! with BOUNCE HOUSE, FOOD,COCKTAILS AND FACE PAINTING,  ICE CREAM BAR!

Childcare swaping and/or babysitting in NE Portland

Hello, my name is Karla, I recently moved to Portland a few months ago and I have a 3 yr old son named Augustine who is very friendly and gentle. I am looking for another mom in NE portland to swap childcare with. I can also babysit at my house if you need a couple extra days along with the swap. If you only need babysitting and can't swap, I am also available for that. I am pretty flexible on pricing and time.

I live in a small two story house with a good sized backyard in Woodlawn. We are vegetarian but I can prepare vegan or gf food as well.
