Are you looking for a fun, caring, reliable part-time nanny? Someone who will sing silly songs to your baby, blow bubbles with your toddler, or do craft projects with your preschool aged child?
 
I am currently looking for a part-time nanny position, generally 2-4 days a week (but I can be flexible if it's a great fit!)  I would prefer to work in North or NE Portland, but will consider other parts of the Portland Metro area.  I'd love to have at least a 6 month commitment to your family.

A bit about me:
I am the mother of an elementary aged child, whom I will not be bringing with me. I was a Girl Scout leader for 3 years, so I am full of silly songs and fun craft projects. I have nannied for several families since moving to Portland and have great references from them. 
 
I have a safe and insured vehicle, so I have reliable transportation to work and to take your young one on fun outings. I am well educated; I have a law degree.  I have undergone criminal background checks by the Girl Scouts and the Oregon State Bar.  I love pets and have no animal allergies.

As for my general childrearing philosophy, I tend to pull my beliefs from multiple sources, especially attachment parenting and Montessori. I believe in soothing crying babies and have experience with cloth diapers, feeding with breastmilk, and babywearing. For toddlers and older children, I believe in learning while playing, silliness, and redirection if needed. Although I am flexible, I do believe that children thrive with some consistency and structure.  I think that children (and I) do best to get out of the house daily, even if it's just for a walk around the neighborhood.  I love to go on outings to coffee shops (Urban Grind is my new favorite find to take babies and toddlers), OMSI, the Zoo, story time, baby gym, indoor park, etc.

Temporary/September Childcare Available

My family is relocating in early October so my husband can attend graduate school. I have many years of experience with children from infants through pre-teens, including working in a daycare center for 6 years, working as a nanny, tons of babysitting, and most importantly, being a mama.
This Friday (9/5) is my last day at my job as a buyer and copywriter for a toy catalog. I will have a lot of time on my hands for the remainder of September, and am available for any temporary childcare needs either in my home (inner SE) or yours. i am a mama of an almost one year old boy. i've watching children for more than half of my life. i have experience with all ages. my son is being raised on an organic vegetarian diet,...mostly wooden toys, cloth diapers, co-sleeping, no tv, etc etc....looking for a family with similar interests who may need childcare once in a while or on a regular basis. i'd prefer a family in SE. i am free Mondays and Fridays, and various other times throughout the week. i'd be happy to come to your house to watch your little one(s).

Hello Mamas and Families!

My name is Jackie and I am interested in finding a family in need of a loving nanny.  I am a certified teacher who is taking some time off to raise my daugher who is 20 months old.  I have spent the last year nannying for a family with two children, ages 4 and 8, two days each week.  I have decided that I need to work more full time and so am looking for a family who needs someone 30-40 hours each week, and who would be open to the idea of my daugher coming along.  She is very kind and sweet and loves other children and it worked out very well with my last family.

In terms of experience, I have taught Kindergarten and First Grade for 5 years, have done loads of babysitting and K-8 tutoring (I am tutoring for 3 girls right now) and nannied for the family I mentioned above.  I also work part time at The Children's Place Bookstore and am a rep for a baby sling company (I am a big advocate for babywearing!)...my life has always revolved around children.

I love the outdoors and exploring nature, I love reading and art (my undergraduate degree was in Art History), and I love singing and creative play.  My approach in raising my own daughter is very attachment oriented.
