Lotus Heart Preschool
Lotus Heart Preschool is currently enrolling for fall! We are a play based preschool for 3-5 yr olds, located in SW Portland in the Gabriel Park/Multnomah Village/Hillsdale area.
We are Eco Healthy certified, and our philosophy is inspired by Waldorf education and the schools of Reggio Emilia. We have a strong emphasis on art, nature, dramatic play, and
environmental education. Sign Language and Spanish are part of our
daily curriculum.
Our daily rhythm provides time for creative play and art, gardening, baking, storytelling/theater, and visiting our neighborhood park and community garden plot. We sing, rhyme, play cooperative games, and do creative movement/yoga at our daily circle time. New this year, we have a certified yoga teacher that visits us monthly as well!
We provide a morning tea time with organic healthy snacks, children bring lunch from home.
Our program is from 9am-1pm for children ages 3-5 years old.

As a parent of child who currently attends Lotus Heart, I just wanted to chime in and say what a fantastic program it is. My son loves it there - he really looks forward to it every day. The kids do loads of art, they're outside every single day -- but best of all is the huge sense of kindness and gentleness that underlies the whole program. For anyone looking for a great preschool - you should check this one out! I'm posting this comment just because we love it so much, and it seems like there ought to be a line to get in...

Lotus Heart Preschool will have a table outside of Second to None family consignment store in the Hillsdale shopping center ( 6300 block & SW Capitol Hwy) this Saturday, September 29th from 12-2pm. We will have a farm collage activity, healthy snacks and refreshments, and information about our program. See you there!
